Faris Karan, a Theelin Padawan of the Jedi Order, lived during the time of the High Republic Era. In the year 231 BBY, this Theelin, along with her Master, Karana Va-Trana, journeyed to Blarrum to find the wanted beast-trader named Triv Blago. They sought him out at Kul Kenada Spaceport. While the trader was in a dispute with Ty Yorrick, a monster hunter, the Theelin and the Aki-Aki confronted him. Yorrick then ran, leaving Blago to the Jedi.
During the High Republic Era, Faris Karan, a Force-sensitive Theelin, was a Jedi Padawan in the service of the Jedi Order. Karan, accompanied by her Aki-Aki Jedi Master Karana Va-Trana, aimed to capture Triv Blago, a Faust beast-trader in 231 BBY. Blago was a wanted individual due to his illegal activities involving the capture and transportation of dangerous creatures. Their search for Blago led them to Kul Kenada Spaceport, which resided on the Outer Rim astronomical object known as Blarrum.
While the Theelin was showing a hologram of Blago to a human, Ty Yorrick, a former Jedi who had become a monster hunter, was attempting to sneak by the two Jedi without them sensing her presence. She was returning to the trader after killing a gundark that had escaped, which they had hired her to capture. However, the Aki-Aki glanced in the direction she went. Shortly after, the two Jedi confronted Blago as he was about to have his guards shoot Yorrick for failing her task. The Theelin demanded Blago's surrender, and the two Jedi deflected the blaster fire coming from the trader's underlings. As the Theelin and the Aki-Aki battled the guards, Yorrick made her escape on a speeder, abandoning Blago. The two Jedi then apprehended the beast-trader.
Being a part of the Jedi Order, Karan was a Force-sensitive being who had undergone training to wield the Force. They were skilled in the use of a lightsaber.
The Theelin Jedi was equipped with a lightsaber that emitted a green blade. They wore Jedi apparel, which included a brown cloak worn over a light brown tunic, dark brown pants, a brown belt, and black boots. To aid in their search for the beast-trader, the Jedi carried a holoprojector to display Blago's image.
The first appearance of Faris Karan, although unnamed at the time, was in the first issue of the Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures — The Monster of Temple Peak comic miniseries. This comic, written by Cavan Scott and illustrated by Rachael Stott, was published by IDW Publishing on August 11, 2021 as part of Phase I of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project. She later reappeared in flashbacks in the 2024 Phase III audio drama The High Republic: Tempest Breaker, also penned by Cavan, where her name was revealed. Cavan's daughter, Chloe Scott, provided the voice for Karan.
