Aeliar

Aeliar was a female officer of the human species who served the Rebel Alliance. Aeliar's goal was to obtain weaponry for the Rebellion, so she planned to buy them from the Hidden Hand criminal organization while Darth Vader was preoccupied by a group of bounty hunters who were hunting him. Gita, Aeliar's agent, infiltrated the team of bounty hunters, which was led by Beilert Valance. However, when the mission failed and Gita had to flee, Aeliar called off the purchase. Valance later contacted the rebels and proposed a deal: he would lead the Empire to the Hidden Hand while the rebels evacuated his homeworld of Chorin. This would allow Valance to betray Vader without his people being punished. In exchange, Valance used the credits he had received from the Hidden Hand for hunting Vader to buy weapons for the Rebel Alliance.

Biography

Supplying the Rebellion

Aeliar, at the rebel base in the Fellio Asteroid Belt, prepares to purchase weapons from the Hidden Hand.

During the Galactic Civil War that pitted the Rebel Alliance against the Galactic Empire, Aeliar held the rank of officer within the Rebellion. In an effort to provide the Rebellion with arms and resources, Aeliar set out to acquire them from the Hidden Hand, a criminal syndicate. This syndicate was being pursued by Darth Vader, a Sith Lord and the enforcer of Emperor Palpatine. As the Hidden Hand began hiring bounty hunters to hunt down Vader, Aeliar dispatched her operative, Gita, to infiltrate the team disguised as "Urrr'k," a Tusken Raider sniper. Aeliar, who was stationed at a rebel base located in the Fellio Asteroid Belt, received a message from Gita informing her that the hunt had commenced. Aeliar then made plans to purchase the weapons while Vader was distracted.

However, the hunt was ultimately unsuccessful, and the team of bounty hunters met their death—with the exception of Dengar, who betrayed the team to the Empire, Gita, who successfully escaped and returned to the Rebellion, and Beilert Valance, who was captured by Vader.

Working with Valance

Aeliar went back to a hidden outpost located on the jungle planet Lowik, where she reunited with Gita. Gita suggested resuming her undercover role as Urrr'k, but because the Hidden Hand had stopped communicating, Aeliar was forced to seek out another weapons dealer. While they were talking, Valance, who Vader had charged with destroying the Hidden Hand, entered the outpost, surprising Aeliar. Valance proposed a deal: the Rebellion would provide him with the location of the Hidden Hand, and in return, Valance would provide them with the weapons they needed.

Aeliar was hesitant to trust Beilert Valance, but ultimately worked with the bounty hunter.

Aeliar was hesitant to place her trust in Valance, but with no other choice available, she agreed to collaborate with the bounty hunter. At Valance's request, Aeliar evacuated the inhabitants of a village on Valance's homeworld of Chorin, including his former love interest, Yuralla Vega, to prevent the Empire from punishing them for Valance's actions in aiding the Rebellion. After Valance assisted in capturing Gwi, the leader of the Hidden Hand, he abandoned the Empire, and the rebels were able to rescue the people of Chorin. Aeliar and Gita met with Valance on Lowik, where Gita asked Valance to continue his work with the Rebellion. The bounty hunter refused and left Lowik. As compensation for her help, Valance used the credits he received from the Hidden Hand when he was hired to buy weapons for the Rebellion, delivering them to Aeliar. Years later, in 3 ABY, Aeliar and Gita were no longer stationed on Lowik. Lieutenant Kondra had taken their place.

Personality and traits

Aeliar, a human female, had blonde [hair](/article/hair], blue [eyes](/article/eye]s, and a fair complexion. She was deeply committed to the Rebel Alliance's cause and was willing to collaborate with criminal organizations to obtain weapons. After the unsuccessful hunt for Vader, Aeliar prevented Gita from going undercover again, knowing she would not be able to defeat Vader alone. She was surprised when Valance found the secret rebel outpost on Lowik and was hesitant to trust and work with the bounty hunter, but she followed through with their plan. Aeliar had faith in the Force, and she said "May the Force be with you" when Valance departed from Lowik.

Equipment

Aeliar was dressed in a gray shirt, brown pants, and a dark jacket, with a black cape over it. She wore goggles on her head and gloves on her hands. A Theta-class T-2c shuttle was used by Aeliar and Gita to evacuate the citizens of Chorin.
