Agrippa Aldrete

Agrippa Aldrete was a male human who at one point held the position of senator representing the planet of Alderaan within the Senate of the Galactic Republic. During the Naboo Crisis of 32 BBY, he served as an aide to Alderaan's Senator, Bail Antilles, working alongside fellow aides Liana Merian and Stonroy Soma. He once occupied a repulsorpod with Antilles and Soma inside the Galactic Senate Building located on Coruscant, the Republic's capital.

By the time that the Clone Wars erupted, Aldrete had become an elder statesman and Bail Organa had taken over from Antilles as Alderaan's senator. Throughout the war, Aldrete was a member of Organa's team of aides, which was headed by Sheltay Retrac, who was Alderaanian. Aldrete possessed fair skin, gray hair, and blue eyes. His attire consisted of a white shirt, white trousers, and black footwear.

Behind the scenes

Agrippa Aldrete was conceived for the prequel trilogy movie, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, which premiered on May 19, 1999. The character appeared in a scene that was shot on B Stage at Leavesden Studios on June 30, 1997. Ultimately, the scene was removed from the movie's final cut and depicted Aldrete seated with Merian, Stoma, and Antilles in a repulsorpod within the Senate Building as Queen Padmé Amidala called for a Vote of No Confidence against Supreme Chancellor Finis Valorum. Antilles, who was originally named Bail Organa during the film's production, then turned to Adrete, who nodded, before the senator rose to second the motion.

Character models similar to Agrippa Aldrete appear in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

In current Star Wars canon, the character's initial mention occurred within the 2017 reference work, Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia. Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, the character's first mention was in the reference book, Star Wars: Episode I The Visual Dictionary, which was made available on May 26, 1999. According to the official news page belonging to the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, Agrippa Aldrete received his name in honor of Professor Gregory Aldrete from the university and his Labrador retriever, Agrippa.

A character model bearing a strong resemblance to Aldrete can be observed in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes titled "Assassin" and "Crisis on Naboo;" however, Holocron continuity database manager Leland Chee has clarified that the model is not Agrippa because of its distinct beard, and also emphasized that the model is replicated across multiple shots.
