Sheltay Retrac hailed from the planet of Alderaan and was a human. Born into Alderaanian nobility, she took on the role of leading Senator Bail Organa's group of aides within the Alderaanian delegation to the Galactic Republic's Senate during the Clone Wars. In 19 BBY, she walked alongside Organa in a corridor of his consular ship, named the Tantive III, as he discussed providing assistance to members of the Jedi Order after the Republic had recently issued Order 66, which branded the Jedi as traitors.
A member of Alderaanian nobility, Sheltay Retrac was a human from the planet Alderaan. During the Clone Wars, which was a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, she was the head of Senator Bail Organa's team of aides, working with Agrippa Aldrete and Sateen Vestswe, who were also aides. Organa was a part of the Alderaanian delegation within the Republic's Galactic Senate and also a member of the Delegation of 2,000, meaning Retrac and the other aides needed to be loyal, willing to keep secrets, and protect him during those dangerous times.

In 19 BBY, the Republic released Order 66, an order that declared the Jedi Order's members as traitors, resulting in many being executed. Organa was determined to help the Jedi who survived, and after his consular ship, the Tantive III, departed from Coruscant, he walked with Retrac, Vestswe, and Captain Raymus Antilles down a ship's corridor toward the bridge, stating that they had to try to find any Jedi who were still alive. Organa then successfully aided Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Grand Master Yoda in their survival.
Retrac favored simple white robes, and when she was on the Tantive III, she wore a cream-colored dress and matching cape along with a silver headpiece. She carried a Kueget LN-21 blaster pistol on her right hip and a stun blaster for self-defense or to protect Organa.

Caroline de Souza Correa played Sheltay Retrac in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, the prequel trilogy film that was released on May 16, 2005. The actress spent four days filming, with the scene on the Tantive III being filmed on Stage 7 at Fox Studios, Sydney on July 24, 2003. She also filmed another scene, which was cut, where she, Organa, and Vestswe are stopped by two Senate Guards.
The dress Retrac wore, designed by visual effects art director Warren Fu, was initially intended for Senator Padmé Amidala to mirror her white Geonosis outfit and Princess Leia Organa's diplomatic attire. However, the design was not used for Amidala because her clothing needed to hide her pregnancy, so it was given to Retrac instead.
Within the current Star Wars canon, Retrac was first named in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia. In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the character was first mentioned before the release of Episode III in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith: The Visual Dictionary, a reference book by James Luceno that was published on April 2, 2005.
