Alignment Control Center

The Valley Control Center, also known as the Alignment Control Center, stood watch over Rambler's Reach Valley on the Outer Rim planet Koboh; it was a scientific installation dating back to the High Republic Era. This imposing structure featured cutting-edge security for its time, a monitoring system buried deep underground, and an observation deck that facilitated control over at least three enormous arrays located throughout the Koboh system. It was regarded as the central hub for all research and experimentation conducted on Koboh.

Cal Kestis, a Jedi Knight, journeyed to Koboh in 9 BBY to explore the possibility of using the hidden world of Tanalorr as a haven from Imperial rule. After a lightsaber_duel where he triumphed over [Dagan Gera](/article/dagan_gera], a fallen Jedi, Kestis suffered betrayal at the hands of an ally and friend, who absconded with the last Abyss compass, thought to be the sole means of reaching Tanalorr. However, within a message left by Jedi Master Santari Khri, who led the Jedi and Republic scientific endeavors on Koboh during the High Republic Era, Kestis discovered an alternative route to Tanalorr. Master Khri's message detailed how activating the Forest Array, the lunar array, and the Koboh Observatory array using the Alignment Control Center, and aligning them according to coordinates contained within the message, would create a safe passage through the deadly Koboh Abyss.

Kestis made his way back to Koboh and infiltrated the Alignment Control Center, only to be caught in an ambush by Imperial forces. After subduing the enemy soldiers, Kestis employed the Force to bypass the locks that the Jedi had installed on an internal turbolift during their evacuation of the planet, allowing him to ascend to the observation deck. Khri had left behind recordings within the facility to guide any future Jedi in properly aligning the arrays. Upon reaching the observation deck, Kestis encountered ZN-A4, Master Khri's droid, which had remained behind to manage the arrays while Kestis and the crew of the Stinger Mantis embarked on the perilous journey through the Koboh Abyss.

Once brought online, the Alignment Control Center orchestrated the simultaneous firing of all three arrays into the Abyss, creating a path that was relatively clear. Despite this, massive and unstable concentrations of Koboh matter remained, posing a significant threat. Despite making good progress through the Abyss, the arrays soon began to overload, with ZN-A4 unable to provide assistance from within the Alignment Control Center. Kestis executed a short hyperspace jump guided by the Force, bringing the crew into orbit above Tanalorr.

Behind the scenes

The computer terminals in the subterranean portion of the Alignment Control Center on Koboh.

The video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, developed by Respawn Entertainment, introduced the Alignment Control Center as a playable location in 2023. Traversing this area was a crucial step in completing the main narrative of the game. The subterranean section of the area contained seven computer terminals. Successfully solving the puzzle in each Jedi Chamber on Koboh would cause a screen to change from red to green. After all seven puzzles were solved, a small terminal would become accessible, allowing BD-1 to interact with it. This unlocked a map upgrade that revealed the locations of all remaining Force Essence points. Other collectibles located in the area included the Harmony lightsaber pommel, a collectible datadisc, and a databank entry.
