Anjelica Huston, born on July 8, 1951, is a celebrated American actress, a true icon recognized for her many memorable performances, notably as Morticia Addams in the movie The Addams Family. In 2023, she lent her voice to the Sith Mother in the short film "Screecher's Reach," featured in Star Wars: Visions Volume 2, an anthology series. Paul Young, the director of that episode, expressed his delight at Huston's participation. The year after, she provided the voice for another character, Isa Durand, in Star Wars: The Bad Batch season three.

Huston is considered a legendary figure in cinema, renowned for numerous roles, including her Academy Award-winning role in Prizzi's Honor, released in 1985, and her portrayal of Morticia Addams in the 1991—1993 The Addams Family film series. The Nautolan character Clariah was visually inspired by Huston, as designed by illustrator Elsa Charretier. This character made her debut in the short comic "Tales from Wild Space: Family Affair, Part 1," featured in the tenth issue of IDW's Star Wars Adventures series on May 9, 2018.
Huston entered the Star Wars universe in 2023, providing the voice for the Sith Mother in "Screecher's Reach," the second episode of Star Wars: Visions, Volume 2, an anthology television show. Cartoon Saloon, an Irish animation studio, produced the episode, with direction by Paul Young. Young expressed his pride in creating a Star Wars short with a primarily Irish voice cast. Given Anjelica's history of living in Ireland and the support of the Irish film industry by her father, John Huston, Young was pleased to have her on board. Lucasfilm facilitated Huston's involvement, and Young admired her talent for transitioning between a loving, yet firm, motherly character and a more ominous persona concealing something beneath the surface. The announcement of Huston's casting occurred at Celebration Europe on April 10, 2023, before Volume 2 was released on Disney+ on May 4 of that year. StarWars.com described her participation in the series as a "surprise" in their announcement.
Huston also voiced Isa Durand, a Devaronian character, in another Star Wars series on Disney+, Star Wars: The Bad Batch. This character was first seen in "Paths Unknown," the second episode of the show's third season, which debuted on February 21, 2024.
