Battle of Lok (22 BBY)
A conflict unfolded in 22 BBY. It pitted Nym's Mere Resistance and the Lok Revenants against the Trade Federation, who were backed by Sabaoth Squadron. The Trade Federation and Sabaoth Squadron sought to recapture Nym's pirate haven, situated on the planet Lok. This combat action unfolded in two phases: one took place in orbit around the moon Khons, while the other was a ground engagement. The events occurred a decade following the Federation's initial seizure of the base.
Prelude
The Second Battle of Lok unfolded in 22 BBY, involving the combined forces of the Lok Revenants and the Mere Resistance. Following the retrieval of Orbital Defense Cannon components aboard the Tritus during the Battle of Nod Kartha, Nym's contingent embarked to install the Cannon on Khons. This was to aid in the recovery of Nym's Base, which had been lost ten years prior. While en route to Khons, the Mere cruiser Tritus experienced an engine malfunction. Captain Juno offloaded the Cannon's components onto Mere Tugs and initiated hyperspace travel. The initial objective was to secure a strategic position and set up the Cannon to bolster the assault on the surface.

Upon emergence from hyperspace, Nym instructed his pilots to neutralize the anti-capital ship turrets, thereby clearing a path for Juno and his tugs. Subsequently, Nym received a communication from Kole, indicating that several of their starfighters had prematurely exited hyperspace, leaving only two operational. Despite this setback, Nym successfully eliminated the turrets before they could inflict damage on the tugs.
The combat then shifted to the moon's planetary side. The Trade Federation maintained a refueling station, where four Missile Frigates were stationed. Juno kept the tugs at a safe distance while Nym secured a landing zone for the Cannon's assembly. Following the destruction of the frigates, Kole landed to oversee the Cannon's construction. As the Cannon was being assembled, waves of droid bombers approached to bombard it, followed by additional waves.
While Nym and his allies defended the Cannon from the bombers, a Trade Federation Cruiser unexpectedly arrived. The cruiser advanced toward the moon and, upon reaching firing range, unleashed volleys of cruise missiles at the Orbital Cannon. Undeterred, Nym allowed the cruiser to approach further, ensuring it would fall within the Cannon's range. Kole then attempted to activate the Cannon, inadvertently disrupting its targeting systems. However, Kole managed to reroute the system through the targeting systems on Nym's Havoc. Simultaneously, the cruiser powered up its weapon systems to launch a final missile barrage. Nym targeted the cruiser, and Kole fired the Cannon, disabling the cruiser's shields. After recharging, the Cannon fired again, obliterating the cruiser entirely.
Down to the surface
The pirate fighters descended to the planet's surface, where they encountered companies of tanks and squadrons of Vulture droid starfighters. Three Mere troop transports maintained a high orbit while the fighters eliminated the tanks and Trade Federation Missile Frigates that were refueling on the ground. With these threats neutralized, the transports moved in, protected by the Mere starfighters. The remaining Vulture droids converged on the ships, resulting in intense aerial combat.
The transports landed in a crater, deploying speeder bikes led by Sol Sixxa to breach the base's entrance. After the door was breached, Nym flew in and destroyed the docks for the frigates inside it. Lieutenant Bella then launched an attack on the Resistance in her personal ship but was killed by Nym. The Lok Revenants had successfully reclaimed their base, although it was significantly altered.
Aftermath
With the planet secured, the pirates were now able to assist their allies engaged in combat on Geonosis. Their ships arrived just in time to fight alongside Jedi Master Adi Gallia and eliminate the remaining elements of Sabaoth Squadron.
Behind the scenes
This article is based upon two missions found in the 2002 video game Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter. The first of these is the mission entitled "Cannon Fodder." The bonus objectives for this mission involve the player destroying all of the turrets on the moon, and ensuring the survival of all of the Mere Tugs. The second is the mission entitled "Heart of the Storm."
