The Bestoon Legacy was a significantly modified WTK-85A interstellar transport. It served as the personal starship for Ochi of Bestoon, a Sith loyalist.
Throughout his career as an assassin, Ochi utilized the Bestoon Legacy, notably during the quest to find Rey, the child who was the granddaughter of Darth Sidious, the resurrected Sith Lord. During this quest, Ochi formed an alliance with the Corporate Sector Authority and their representative, Enric Pryde, a former Imperial officer. Rey's parents, Miramir and Dathan, briefly commandeered the craft to return Rey to the planet of Jakku; however, a drunken Ochi killed them and regained control of his ship. He journeyed to the planet following a misleading clue about Rey's whereabouts, where he met his end after becoming submerged in the Shifting Mires, abandoning his ship. Over the years, sand-clogs began to fill the ship's intakes and thrusters, and nomadic solif-spiders left behind considerable amounts of silk strands.
During the First Order-Resistance War, Poe Dameron, Finn, Rey, C-3PO, and BB-8 made use of the ship after the First Order took possession of the Millennium Falcon. After Rey seemingly caused the accidental death of Chewbacca, the group made their escape from Pasaana aboard the ship, with Poe concealing it within an asteroid belt. Although they lost the dagger, its inscription resided within C-3PO's memory. Consequently, the group decided to travel to Kijimi to have Babu Frik perform a memory bypass, unaware that the Night Buzzard, the ship of the Knights of Ren, was tailing them. The ship landed on the planet and touched down in Kijimi City, which was under the oppressive control of the First Order.
After Babu Frik successfully extracted the translation, sacrificing C-3PO's memories in the process, the group returned to the Bestoon Legacy and piloted it to the Steadfast, which was hovering above the city, to rescue Chewbacca. Poe utilized Zorii Bliss' First Order Captain's Medallion to secure clearance for landing in one of the ship's hangars, specifically Hangar 12. Allegiant General Pryde, the very same former Imperial who had previously encountered Ochi and observed his ship up close, along with a contingent of stormtroopers, entered the hangar. Pryde expressed surprise upon seeing the vessel and inquired of one of his subordinates about the ship's ownership. Poe Dameron's group subsequently recovered the Falcon and rescued Chewbacca, and the First Order met its demise shortly thereafter.
