Blutopia pearls, alternatively presented as Blutopia Pearls, were soft, brown spheres originating from Blutopia. This homeworld of the Blutopians is characterized by its watery environment. They were a beloved treat for the Blutopian Oga Garra. The Artiodac chef, Strono Tuggs, procured some for her directly from Blutopia during a culinary expedition across the galaxy. This journey took place between 34 ABY and 35 ABY, with Tuggs hoping to regain her good graces.
He also discovered that the pearls were used as an ingredient on the planet Giju in a variation of the drink Giju Glug. Furthermore, he found them on the planet Ifron, where they were incorporated into Thuris Caf. Subsequently, he included recipes for the pearls and both beverages in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook.
Blutopia pearls, also known as Blutopia Pearls, were described as petite, squishy brown spheres that came from Blutopia, the watery homeworld within the Expansion Region that is home to the Blutopian species. Both Blutopians and members of the Artiodac species were known to enjoy these vegetarian pearls.

Oga Garra, a Blutopian proprietor of Oga's Cantina situated in Black Spire Outpost on the Outer Rim planet Batuu, held a fondness for the pearls. She also wielded significant influence over the outpost. Following Garra's displeasure with Strono Tuggs, an Artiodac chef, for publishing the blurrgfire beverage recipe from her cantina in his initial cookbook, The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, in 34 ABY, Tuggs resolved to regain her favor. He did this by acquiring Blutopia pearls directly from Blutopia during a culinary tour of the galaxy conducted between 34 ABY and 35 ABY.
During his culinary voyage, he also discovered the presence of Blutopia pearls on other planets. On Ifron, an Outer Rim planet, they were incorporated into Thuris Caf, a beverage served at the Bovris Tapcafe, as part of a flavor combination that included koja nut milk, caf-infused ice cubes, and an Ithor Float. Additionally, he found them on the Colonies planet Giju, where a layer of the pearls was used as an ingredient in a variation of the beverage Giju Glug for added flavor and visual appeal. Tuggs considered this particular version to be his preferred rendition of the drink.
In 35 ABY, he released the recipes for the pearls and both beverages in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook. Within the pearls recipe, he pondered that if Garra did not appreciate the treats, he would consume them himself, albeit away from Batuu.
Blutopia pearls originated as a recipe featured in the 2023 publication Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe book authored by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe recipe involves a boba tea preparation, utilizing boba pearls and water to represent Blutopia pearls. Additional water, brown sugar, and vanilla extract are used to create the syrup.
