Burborok, a male Sedrian who hailed from the planet Sedri, lived during the time of the Galactic Civil War. When the Sedri civil war erupted, he chose to align himself with the bishop of war Karak and his renegades, acting as Karak's personal protector. Burborok joined Karak and five other renegades in an attack on the Sun caves in the city of Fitsay during the Siege of the Fitsay Sun Caves, aiming to seize the power of the Golden Sun. A group of Rebels and the Sedrian priest Pek pursued Karak and his followers into the caves, where Burborok, along with the other renegades except for Karak, lay in wait to ambush them. As the Rebels approached, Burborok issued a verbal challenge to Pek, intending to divert his attention and the Rebels, allowing the other renegades to launch a surprise attack from the rear. However, Burborok was killed in the ensuing conflict.
Burborok, a male Sedrian native to the planet Sedri, a water-dominated world situated in the Sedri system, remained largely isolated from the broader galaxy. During Burborok's life, a civil war ignited on his home planet, pitting the religious order known as the Priests of the Sun, who governed Sedri from the city of Fitsay, against a faction of renegades led by the former bishop of war Karak, who opposed their authority. Burborok sided with the renegades in this conflict, who challenged the Priests of the Sun because of their control over the Golden Sun, a vast collective of polyp species known as Golden Sun coral. These corals formed a unified, sentient being with a strong connection to the Force, possessing significant healing abilities. The priests, however, kept it hidden within a structure known as the Great Shell Dome in the center of Fitsay, strictly limiting access to it. The renegades followed Karak, believing that all Sedrians should have access to the Golden Sun, although Karak's true motive was to seize the coral's power for his own purposes.
During the War, an Imperial scout ship stumbled upon Sedri, and after its coordinates were reported, a small Imperial garrison was established on the planet, commanded by commander Aban. The Imperial presence, in turn, attracted the attention of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and a Rebel dignitary named Mors Odrion and his companion Rekara journeyed to the world as well. However, the rebels soon encountered the renegades, who captured them for interrogation, unaccustomed to off-worlders. While the renegades considered using Odrion as a potential bargaining chip with the new Imperial presence, Rekara managed to escape and steal a small piece of Golden coral that the renegades had taken from Fitsay.
Karak then brought Odrion to the Imperial garrison and struck a deal with Aban to forge an alliance between the renegades and the Empire to attack Fitsay and claim the power of the Golden Sun, dividing it equally between the two factions. The former priest of war kept the deal a secret from the majority of renegades, many of whom were suspicious of the Imperials. This was exploited by a group of six rebels who had traveled to Sedri with Rekara, who had managed to reach the rebel Delta Base on New Kisge seeking assistance. The group leveraged Karak's betrayal to persuade many renegades to side with them and the Priests of the Sun in the upcoming battle, including Karak's daughter, Fala.
Those renegades who remained loyal, which included Burborok, and the Empire then launched their siege on the Sun Caves, utilizing an Aquatic Terrain Armored Transport. The Imperial troops, primarily composed of Aquatic assault stormtroopers, clashed with the forces of Fitsay and the Rebels outside the city. However, Karak took six of his most trusted and powerful renegades, Dragob, Glish, K'hondo, Porm, Spodan and Burborok as well as his pet razort Tooch and their prisoner Odrion, to the Sun caves in attempt to claim the coral for himself and defeat the Imperials and priests.
At the cave, the group was confronted by the High priest Cardo, however one of them slash him across the chest, causing a near fatal wound. They then moved into the cave, with Karak and Odrion heading straight for the main chamber while the others spread out through the cave so to slow down any pursuers. Burborok waited within a hall in the cave hidden from view. The group of six rebels, Rekara and Cardo's son Pek soon entered the cave in search of Karak. When they came to the hall Burborok was in the Sedrian shouted a challenge to Pek whilst still out of site. THis however was merely a distraction so other Renegades to attack the group from behind. Burborok was killed in the following battle. The Rebels went on to successfully stop Karak by persuading the Golden Sun to separate and weaken its power, which Karak had taken control of becoming near invincible.
Burborok made his debut in the West End Games adventure module Battle for the Golden Sun, authored by Douglas Kaufman and released in 1988 as a component of the Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. He appears as an adversary that the player characters encounter during the final chapter of the adventure, whom they must defeat to reach Karak and successfully conclude the adventure.
