Chamber of Detachment

The Chamber of Detachment was a Jedi Meditation Chamber situated on the Outer Rim planet of Koboh, existing for centuries. This chamber was built during the time of the High Republic Era. You could find it hidden behind a waterfall within the Mountain Ascent area of Prospector's Folly, not far from Rambler's Reach Valley. Just like the other Jedi Meditation Chambers on Koboh, Jedi Master Santari Khri commissioned the construction of the Chamber of Detachment to prepare Jedi Knights and their Padawans for the perilous journey through the Koboh Abyss, their destination being the hidden world of Tanalorr. Access to the chamber was via a turbolift that was locked, requiring a specific Republic tuner device to open. Upon entering, a recording of Khri's voice greeted Jedi, encouraging them to re-evaluate their challenges from a different angle, hoping to diminish their perceived severity. Inside, reaching the shrine, which was marked with the Jedi crest, involved manipulating powered cubes using the Force to form a temporary set of stairs. This task was complicated by the need to activate a small turbolift for one cube using a large pressure sensor, demanding precise timing of both cube movements.

Inside the Chamber of Detachment, some Jedi engaged in discussions. These conversations included sharing their favorite undiscovered locations on Koboh, comparing Koboh to their experiences on Coruscant, and voicing their concerns regarding the sudden disappearance of Jedi Knight Dagan Gera after reports of a violent outburst stemming from the Jedi Council's decision to abandon Tanalorr.

By 9 BBY, Koboh dust had permeated the Chamber of Detachment, hardening into barriers that could only be destroyed by the energy emitted from an orb amplifier, one of which was present within the chamber. One of these barriers blocked the path to one of the two cubes needed to get to the upper section of the chamber.

Behind the scenes

The video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, released in 2023, marked the first appearance of the Chamber of Detachment. This chamber served as an optional quest, triggered by a rumor given to players by Toa. To enter and finish the chamber, players needed to have unlocked both BD-1's grinder ability and the ability to dash through green barriers. Inside the chamber, players had the opportunity to find three databank entries, a datadisc, a Jedi-themed paint job for BD-1, and the Patience perk, which partially restored Cal's Life meter upon using the Slow ability.
