Coalition for Progress

The Coalition for Progress (CFP), alternatively referred to as the Coalition of Progress, functioned as a subordinate division within the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order. Its mandate encompassed the cultural advancement of the Galactic Empire and the meticulous cultivation of its public image.

History

As a sub-bureau of the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order, the Coalition for Progress was established during the extensive reorganization of the Imperial structure initiated by Emperor Sheev Palpatine. Soon after its creation, the Coalition assumed responsibility for carefully observing and influencing the Empire's image as perceived by the galactic population, as well as nurturing future generations of Imperial leaders.

In 5 BBY, the Coalition for Progress intervened on Garel, issuing an order for the destruction of a debated statue crafted by the renowned artist Janyor from Bith. The Coalition for Progress officially stated that the artwork had deteriorated due to neglect, posing a threat to public safety. A small number of citizens organized a spontaneous protest, which was quickly suppressed by local law enforcement.

Around 1 ABY, the Coalition for Progress became aware of a live holofeed originating from Milvayne, which depicted two fugitives evading the Milvayne Authority and other adversaries. The Enduring Pride, their Imperial Propaganda Flagship, hovered several klicks above the planet as Okma discussed the matter with Chair Pitina Mar-Mas Voor, the leader of the coalition. She believed that the broadcast displayed inappropriate content that might encourage rebellious thoughts among Milvayne's inhabitants. Although Okma emphasized that Milvayne had accepted Imperial dominion under the condition of minimal interference, the minister assured him that circumventing this principle was unnecessary.
