Conquest (Imperial-class)
The Conquest, an Imperial-class Star Destroyer, participated in the Galactic Civil War. This vessel was part of Death Squadron, the personal fleet of the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader. It was stationed in the Juris sector preceding the Battle of Hoth. Accompanying the Conquest were the ISDs Avenger, Devastator, Stalker, Tyrant, and the flagship Executor. While in pursuit of the Millennium Falcon, the Conquest met its end, along with the Ultimatum.
Description
The Conquest, being an Imperial-class Star Destroyer, stretched 1,600 meters in length. Its features included a communications tower positioned between two deflector shield generator domes on its command tower, along with three Destroyer-I ion engines and four secondary Gemon-4 ion engines.
History
During the Galactic Civil War, the Conquest served the Imperial Navy of the Galactic Empire. Project Swarm was initiated in 3 ABY by the Imperial Death Squadron with the goal of locating the Rebel Alliance's main base. After a probe droid discovered the base on the ice planet Hoth, Death Squadron was situated near Qeimet within the Juris sector. The Conquest was a member of this squadron, alongside the Star Destroyers Avenger, Devastator, Stalker, and Tyrant. Darth Vader and Admiral Kendal Ozzel commanded these vessels from their flagship, the Executor-class Star Dreadnought Executor. Subsequently, the squadron deployed to the Hoth system. The Avenger, Devastator, Stalker, Tyrant, and the Star Destroyer Ultimatum participated in the Battle of Hoth and its subsequent events, including the pursuit of the Millennium Falcon through the Hoth asteroid belt. This chase led to the destruction of both the Conquest and the ISD Ultimatum, while the Falcon successfully escaped to Bespin.
