Crèche egg

Creche egg The Crèche elder, observing the Crèche egg. In the wake of the Galactic Civil War, a secluded society known as the Crèche were the protectors of a massive egg. This egg was concealed within the deep cave systems of the planet Ovanis. The Crèche held a strong belief that from this egg, a savior of the galaxy would eventually emerge. Sadly, the egg met its end when First Order flametroopers, under the orders of First Order Security Bureau Agent Terex, destroyed it.

Details

The Crèche egg was a sizable egg that glowed with an ethereal blue light reminiscent of a ghostly aura. A network of tubes suspended it from the roof of the Cave of the Crèche. The Crèche egg was vulnerable to damage from continuous fire emitted by flamethrowers.

Background

For countless generations, the Crèche cult dedicated their existence to safeguarding and caring for this egg. They were convinced it contained their future savior. Upon hatching, they believed this savior would express gratitude for their long-standing protection. Subsequent to Operation: Sabre Strike, Resistance General Leia Organa tasked starfighter pilot Poe Dameron and his Black Squadron with the mission to search for the explorer Lor San Tekka. Leia's motivation was that Tekka might assist her in locating her missing brother, Luke Skywalker. Upon arriving on Ovanis, Poe was informed by the Crèche elder that Tekka had visited them a long time ago.

The elder then proceeded to explain to Poe the Crèche egg and its significance to their way of life. When BB-8 discovered a tracker attached to Poe's T-70 X-wing starfighter, Poe confronted the Crèche members. The Crèche elder, mistaking the tracker for a detonator, commanded her followers to attack Poe. Poe successfully convinced the Crèche that he posed no threat. Shortly thereafter, First Order agent Terex appeared with a group of stormtroopers and demanded Poe's surrender. The Crèche elder pretended to be unaware of his presence, but one of Terex's stormtroopers detected the signal from Poe's tracker.

As a consequence, Terex threatened to set the Crèche egg ablaze. In an attempt to protect the egg, Poe gave himself up. When Poe made it known that Black Squadron was engaging Terex's forces, Terex gave the order for his flametroopers to incinerate the egg. Ultimately, the egg shattered, releasing two large winged creatures that immediately engaged in combat. The black creature emerged as the victor over the blue winged creature. After the First Order forces were defeated by the Resistance pilot Dameron and Black Squadron, the Crèche cultists, filled with gratitude, hailed the black winged creature as their savior and left with it.
