Description

Stationed at the Rebel Alliance's refueling base on Vrogas Vas during the Galactic Civil War, Cyan Squadron was made up of T-47 airspeeders.

History

In 0 ABY, Darth Vader launched a surprise attack against the Rebel Alliance at their Vrogas Vas base. This assault began with Vader completely annihilating Blue and Yellow Squadrons. While Vader engaged in a space battle with Red Squadron, Luke Skywalker, designated Red Five, deliberately crashed his starfighter into Vader's TIE Advanced x1, resulting in both crash-landing on the planet's surface. Cyan Squadron's T-47 airspeeders were then deployed with orders to find the crash sites of both fighters and, if possible, kill Vader. Cyan Leader and Cyan Two were unsuccessful in their search for the Sith Lord. However, Cyan Three encountered Vader, with deadly consequences; Vader utilized the weapons array stripped from his downed TIE to destroy Cyan Three's airspeeder.

Following this engagement, Commander Arhul Narra of Red Squadron, characterized the events as one of the most devastating losses of starfighter pilots he had ever witnessed. He noted the complete destruction of Blue, Gray and Yellow Squadrons, as well as the abandonment of their starfighter outpost after the Imperial fleet arrived. Although Darth Vader managed to escape capture, all Alliance High Command personnel were successfully evacuated. Furthermore, all sensitive data stored at the outpost was either recovered or deliberately destroyed. The Alliance did manage to capture Dr. Chelli Lona Aphra, a valuable prisoner, who was then sent to a max security penitentiary located at Sunspot.
