The Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor, alternatively called the Delta-7 Aethersprite-class Jedi starfighter, Delta-7 Jedi starfighter, or Delta-7 Jedi Interceptor, and often shortened to Jedi starfighter, represented a starfighter design from Kuat Systems Engineering that the Jedi Order utilized preceding and during the Clone Wars. The Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor variant was also flown by the Jedi throughout the Clone Wars. Moreover, the Alliance to Restore the Republic employed the Delta-7 in their early campaigns against the Galactic Empire.

The Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor, a starfighter employed by the Jedi and produced by Kuat Systems Engineering, played a significant role in the latter years of the Galactic Republic. It was specifically engineered with the Jedi's needs in mind. The Delta-7's creators collaborated with the Jedi Order to develop a starfighter that minimized internal systems compared to other starships, focusing on optimizing control responsiveness to leverage the Jedi's Force-sensitive abilities. As a high-performance transport, it provided space for a single pilot and an integrated astromech droid. Unlike later starfighter designs, its wings were too narrow to accommodate a full astromech socket. Instead, a specialized astromech was directly wired into a socket on the ship's wing, keeping its dome intact while its components were connected directly to the ship's computer. Consequently, the droid became crucial in aiding the pilot with tasks such as navigation, damage management, and entering hyperspace coordinates.
In contrast to most vessels in the galaxy, the Delta-7 Jedi starfighter lacked an internal hyperdrive. Instead, it depended on external hyperspace transport rings that attached to the starship, enabling it to enter trans-dimensional realm. Despite this limitation, the ship could still achieve speeds of 1,260 kph in realspace. It was commonly painted red, a color symbolizing the diplomatic protection afforded to the Jedi.
The Jedi Order began using the Delta-7 either before or during 32 BBY. Qui-Gon Jinn piloted a Delta-7, as did his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Yoda also possessed his own custom variant, which he used on a mission to the Vagadarr system.
Four years afterward, Master Depa Billaba piloted a Delta-7 as part of Hazard Squadron, providing escort for a relief convoy en route to Bromlarch. She interfered with communications between the convoy's starships and the attacking pirates.
In 22 BBY, Kenobi flew his interceptor on a mission to Kamino, where he uncovered a clone army being produced without authorization from the Galactic Senate. The bounty hunter Jango Fett served as the cloning template and was suspected of involvement in a plot to assassinate Senator Amidala. The Jedi High Council instructed Kenobi to capture Fett and bring him to Coruscant for questioning. Fett evaded capture, but Kenobi successfully tracked him to Geonosis.

Upon realizing Kenobi's presence, Fett engaged him in an extended dogfight over Geonosis. During the battle, Kenobi ejected his starfighter's spare parts canisters to simulate his own death. Kenobi eventually reached the planet's surface but was captured by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Anakin Skywalker and Senator Padmé Amidala attempted a rescue, but they too were captured and sentenced to death in the Petranaki Arena. A Jedi assault team was deployed to rescue the trio, but they suffered heavy losses and were on the verge of defeat when Yoda arrived with the Grand Army of the Republic. The subsequent First Battle of Geonosis marked the end of the Separatist Crisis and the commencement of the Clone War.
At least one Delta-7, piloted by Jedi Master Plo Koon near the Clone War's conclusion in 19 BBY, was destroyed during the capture of Cato Neimoidia as Order 66 was executed.
The nascent Alliance began utilizing refurbished Delta-7 interceptors for local skirmishes, alongside other aging Clone Wars-era equipment and system patrol vessels.

The Delta-7 Aethersprite made its initial appearance in the 2002 film from the saga, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.
Star Wars: Complete Locations indicates the Delta-7 Aethersprites were developed as a result of the Invasion of Naboo. However, Star Wars (2015) 26 depicted them in use prior to the invasion.
