Dromika, a Sith of the Human species and of female gender, held the distinction of being the twin sister of Quillan. Furthermore, she was among the youngest offspring of the Sith Lord known as Chagras, and a sibling to Arkadia Calimondra.
During the era known as the New Sith Wars, the planet Byllura found itself under the control of the Chagras Hegemony. Subsequent to the death of Chagras, who had been the Hegemony's leader, Byllura ascended to the status of capital city within the Dyarchy. This political entity was jointly ruled by the Sith Lord twins, Dromika and Quillan, with Saaj Calician functioning as their Regent. Their joint rule met its end in 1032 BBY when Arkadianate forces successfully seized Byllura.
The Sith Lord Chagras, who governed the Chagras Hegemony during the New Sith Wars, counted Dromika and her brother Quillan among his youngest offspring. The year 1040 BBY marked Chagras' passing, an event that ignited a second series of clan conflicts among the Sith clans dominating the Grumani sector. At this time, Dromika and Quillan were a mere five years of age. They ascended to become the leaders of a diminished state referred to as the Dyarchy, with their Krevaaki Regent, Saaj Calician, governing on their behalf. Their home was the planet Byllura, where they resided upon a mesa overlooking the capital city of Hestobyll.
Throughout their formative years, the twins honed their abilities to manipulate their surrounding environment through the Force, effectively turning all other sentient beings and droids into extensions of their will. From the earliest stages of her life, Dromika possessed the capability to employ Force persuasion to issue hypnotic commands, compelling her servants to provide her with sustenance. With Calician's aid, the sibling duo harnessed a network of Celegians to transmit mental suggestions, thereby captivating the population of Byllura and transforming them into a unified, living entity. To maintain their dominance over the Dyarchy, Calician marshaled a force of red-clad Unifiers who enforced compliance among the populace through the use of Force persuasion. This accomplishment remained unmatched within the Grumani sector, as even Sith Lord Daiman, who fancied himself the omnipresent Creator of the universe, could not exert such direct control over the everyday affairs of his subjects.
During their reign, they remained within their mesa due to Quillan's potent farsight ability. The twins maintained communication through a profound telepathic connection in the Force. Dromika became Quillan's primary intermediary, while simultaneously being completely subject to his will. The twins dwelled within a secluded throne room, regularly attended to by a large entourage of servant droids. Given that Quillan perceived living beings as mere phantasms radiating through the Force, which obscured his physical senses, only servant droids were permitted to approach the twins physically. Her twin's Force perceptions were so intense that all other sentient beings were required to address them from a dais positioned at a distance from their throne. By her teenage years, Dromika had mastered the art of using her Force hypnotic powers to transform other sentient beings and droids into mere extensions of her will.
The twins' Regent, Calician, harbored intentions of leveraging the siblings' mental Force powers to advance his own grandiose aspirations of galactic dominion. Calician himself was of the belief that for a single Sith to govern the entire galaxy, all other beings must become constituent parts of the "self." Five years prior to the Dyarchy's fall in 1032 BBY, Calician commissioned the construction of a fleet comprising fourteen large battlecruisers, each equipped with a single Force-sensitive Celegian who would receive orders directly from Byllura. These warships were assembled within concealed hangars beneath the expansive reflection pools of the capital, Hestobyll. By 1032 BBY, this fleet was prepared for deployment, and Calician intended to utilize them to invade the Daimanate's rearward systems as the initial step toward achieving galactic supremacy.
Following the events of the Battle of Gazzari, the Jedi Knight Kerra Holt, accompanied by the mercenary Jarrow Rusher and a group of refugee children rescued from Gazzari, embarked on a journey to Byllura aboard the Diligence, en route to the Galactic Republic. Quillan immediately detected Kerra's presence through the Force and instructed Dromika to command Calician to monitor the newcomers and "integrate" them into their population. Calician directed the Celegian known as "One" to establish contact with the orbital defense stations and to promptly report the arrival of any unfamiliar individuals. The Diligence received permission to dock at a landing platform within Hestobyll's spaceport. Upon their arrival, "One" guided the refugees to a center where they would be assigned living quarters and subsequently "integrated" into the population.
Kerra swiftly discerned that the entire population of Byllura was under the control of an unidentified force (later revealed to be the Celegian "One") through Force Persuasion, observing that everyone moved in unison. In an attempt to shield two of her charges, the Sullustan Tan Tengo and the Duros Beadle Lubboon, from being forcibly "integrated" into Dyarchy subjects, Kerra initiated a confrontation with several Unifiers mounted on speeder bikes. Concurrently, Jarrow and the remaining members of Rusher's Brigade engaged a contingent of Unifiers attempting to seize control of the Diligence. During the ensuing Battle of Byllura, Kerra pursued Tan and Beadle's captors through the streets of Hestoybyll, across the bay, and toward the mesa, which served as the source of the Force presence controlling the people of Byllura. Kerra successfully infiltrated The Loft through the airspeeder hangar bay, overcoming several Unifiers along the way.
Dromika and Quillan also sensed Kerra's presence through the Force and compelled Calician to eliminate the Jedi intruder. By this point, Kerra had deduced that the Sith were employing Celegians to manipulate the populace through mental suggestions. She infiltrated the chamber housing the Celegian "One" within a large transparisteel cylinder at the center of the room. Kerra managed to communicate with "One" and persuade him to turn against his Sith overlords by transmitting misleading signals to the other Celegians and their charges. She instructed him to order the guards to return to their barracks and then to command another guard to escort the prisoners, Tan and Beadle, to the hangar bay. Finally, she ordered "One" to instruct the people of Hestobyll to return to their homes and to cease sending messages for his Sith overlords.
Leveraging mental suggestions, Quillan and Dromika commanded Calician to engage Kerra in combat, leading to a brief lightsaber duel. Throughout the duel, Dromika maintained a hypnotic hold over Calician, causing him to repeatedly declare that "he would destroy the Jedi." Calician managed to conclude the duel by luring Kerra into a turbolift, under the guise of rescuing her two young charges. Upon reaching the top floor of the Loft, the twins employed mental suggestions to instruct their nanny droids to attack Kerra, launching themselves at the Jedi woman. Kerra entered the half-black dome housing their throne room and confronted the twins. Initially mistaking them for captives, she quickly realized that they were the focal point of the dark side energy she had sensed. They were joined by Calician, who introduced Kerra to the Sith twins, elucidating their philosophy of incorporating all life under their control. The Regent attempted to coerce Kerra into joining the Dyarchy by threatening her with death.
Having trapped and cornered their first significant Jedi adversary, Quillan instructed his sister Dromika to command Kerra to kneel. When Kerra refused to submit to the twins, Dromika employed her powers of Force persuasion to compel Kerra to kneel. However, the twins soon became embroiled in a dispute with their Regent over who would have the privilege of executing the "Jedi aspect."
Calician desired to kill Kerra with his lightsaber-batons, but Dromika wished to do it herself. The twins utilized their Force powers to physically restrain Calician in place. As Calician argued with the twins and demanded his release, Kerra managed to reignite her lightsaber and attack the Regent, severing one of his tentacles. She then engaged the twins in a mental battle, employing telekinesis to hurl objects across the room.
The ensuing duel was interrupted by the arrival of the Diligence, which breached through the Lodge. During the fighting, Kerra quickly realized that Quillan was using his sister Dromika as a puppet to carry out his bidding. In the ensuing chaos, Kerra took Quillan hostage and brought him aboard the Diligence, fleeing Dromika, who had by then picked up one of Calician's lightsaber-batons. Once aboard the Diligence, Quillan was detained in the nook of the warship's command bridge, guarded by two armed mercenaries. Jarrow also retrieved Tan and Beadle from the Loft's hangar bay.
With her brother in captivity, Dromika no longer had commands to relay to their Celegians. Unable to cope with the kidnapping of her twin, Dromika collapsed into a comatose state. Within minutes, the twins' intricate command system on Byllura had also collapsed as the population emerged from their mentally-induced thralldom and rebelled against the Dyarchy. Riots quickly erupted across Byllura's surface, including the capital city Hestobyll. This situation was further complicated by the rebellion of the Celegians themselves after "One" had successfully convinced the others to rebel against their Sith overlords and to cease sending transmissions. Under Quillan and Dromika's rule and Calician's guidance, Byllura had been a model of Sith centralization, with a non-electronic system centered on the will power of one Sith Lord. With Quillan gone, there was nothing but anarchy in the Dyarchy.
A desperate Regent Calician contacted Kerra via intercom, explaining the full extent of the impact of Quillan's kidnapping on the Dyarchy. With Dromika trapped in a coma, Calician tried to get Kerra to kill Quillan in revenge for the slavery he had endured under the latter. In return, Kerra also got Calician to free the captive Celegians. As the Diligence was exiting Byllura's upper atmosphere, the Dyarchy was invaded by a fleet of Arkadianate warships led by their older sibling and Sith Lord Arkadia Calimondra. Arkadia's warfleet quickly neutralized the Dyarchy's battleships and captured the Diligence in their tractor projector.
Following the battle's conclusion, both Dromika and Quillan were taken into the custody of their older sibling, Arkadia. While Quillan was escorted by Jarrow and Kerra to Arkadia's capital on Syned, Dromika remained on Byllura at her mountaintop home, under the care of her new Arkadianate guardians. Meanwhile, Arkadianite forces located and executed Calician, who, according to a report received by the Bothan spy Narsk Ka'hane, met his end quietly. Ultimately, Byllura fell and the Dyarchy was absorbed into Arkadia's territories, with its people falling under the rule of another Sith princedom. Arkadia's forces encountered no significant ground resistance, as the Byllurans despised their Force-induced mental thralldom, and Arkadia's policies were deemed "benevolent and enlightened" by the standards of Sith space.
During a meeting with Kerra, Jarrow, and Narsk, her older sister Arkadia expressed her desire that the two twins remain separated due to their peculiar telepathic connection. Given that Quillan had completely dominated Dromika throughout much of her life, Arkadia claimed that she wanted to ensure that Dromika would be able to lead a better quality of life away from her brother. However, their elder sister concealed an ulterior motive of wanting to exploit the twins' Force powers for her own advantage.
During a family Bequest, their grandmother Vilia Calimondra recognized Arkadia's annexation of the former Dyarchy but made arrangements for taking Quillan into her custody. During the Siege of Calimondretta, Narsk foiled a plot by Arkadia to kill Quillan and succeeded in evacuating her twin brother to Vilia Calimondra's empire. Meanwhile, two of Vilia's agents took advantage of this chaos to spirit Dromika away from her Arkadianate captors on Byllura. Thus, guardianship of the twins ultimately passed to their grandmother. However, Vilia also took steps to ensure that Dromika and Quillan would be kept apart from each other for the rest of their lives.
Dromika possessed a strong affinity with the Force, demonstrating a natural talent for issuing potent hypnotic commands to influence other sentient beings. In contrast, her twin brother Quillan possessed a remarkable farsight ability, enabling him to accurately perceive the future in great detail. However, these hypersensitive Force abilities resulted in her twin brother constantly experiencing fever, headaches, and a need for those around him to wear dark colors to prevent him from being harmed. Dromika frequently had to soothe her brother during these episodes. Consequently, the twins spent the majority of their lives on Byllura, shielded from anything that could potentially harm them.
Dromika and Quillan regarded all entities external to themselves, including both sentient beings and droids, as mere aspects. While the twins were physically separated, they were united through the Force, rendering them almost a single, inseparable entity. Dromika was the sole individual capable of contacting her brother, as they shared the same Force plane. According to Regent Calician, this mental telepathic Force bond was so profound that no form of science or Sith alchemy could sever it. Dromika served as an intermediary for her twin brother, facilitating communication with other sentient beings.
From infancy, Dromika demonstrated a strong connection to the Force and was adept at employing Force persuasion to issue compelling hypnotic commands. Dromika frequently utilized this ability to compel other sentient beings to carry out her and her twin brother Quillan's wishes. Thanks to their mind control powers, the siblings successfully enthralled the minds of all the inhabitants of Byllura, transforming the planet's population into an almost single-celled organism entirely subservient to their will. Within the sibling dynamic, Dromika's hypnotic powers complemented Quillan's substantial far-sight abilities. Dromika often spoke on behalf of her twin Quillan, as the latter dwelled entirely within his expansive mind, perceiving other living beings as mere phantasms in his dream world.
However, unlike most other Sith, Dromika and her twin brother lacked any discernible combat skills, preferring to act through their environment, utilizing other beings as mere extensions of their will. Dromika had resided in the Loft for much of her life and had rarely engaged in physical exercise or labor. Even as a teenager, she typically wore pajamas and seldom left the palace compound. In terms of physical appearance, Dromika possessed green eyes and long blonde hair, which she devoted considerable time to grooming. According to Kerra, she wore an oversized nightshirt and had wide eyes reminiscent of a youngling.
Dromika made her debut as a minor antagonist in John Jackson Miller's novel, Knight Errant, which was initially released on January 25, 2011. While this marked Miller's first published novel, he also developed the script for the Star Wars: Knight Errant comic series, which is closely linked to the novel. To date, she has not made an appearance within the comic series.
On his personal website, Faraway Press, Miller commented that he intended to use Dromika and her brother Quillan to illustrate how the misfortune of being born into Sith Space could have tragic consequences on the lives of Force-sensitive children living under Sith rule. He argued that Dromika had been molded into a weapon under her Sith mentor, Calician. Miller also speculated that had Dromika been born under more favorable circumstances within the Galactic Republic, the Jedi could have assisted them in leading normal lives.
