Duel on Cadomai Prime

The brief clash known as the Duel on Cadomai Prime unfolded in 138 ABY. It pitted the renegade Sith Darth Wredd against a Snivvian member within the One Sith organization. Following the events of the Carreras Incident, Darth Wredd initiated an insurgency aimed at undermining the One Sith. His ultimate goals were to reinstate the Rule of Two and to seek retribution for the One Sith's annihilation of his planet, Mala, and the demise of his family.

History

Background

The rogue Sith Darth Wredd

The individual who would become the Sith Lord Darth Wredd was once a Force-sensitive warrior hailing from the world of Mala. As the Second Imperial Civil War reached its final stages, the One Sith tested a bioweapon on Mala, resulting in the death of its entire population, except for Wredd. The planet was also displaced from its orbit, becoming a wandering celestial body. Though sparing Wredd's life, the One Sith forcibly inducted him into their ranks. Embracing the dark side of the Force, Wredd was assigned to an unknown master as an apprentice, all the while nurturing a deep-seated desire for revenge against the One Sith. After Darth Krayt's defeat, the One Sith retreated into the shadows, adopting a strategy of infiltrating galactic governments and corporations in pursuit of restoring their "golden age."

In the year 138 ABY, Darth Wredd saw an opportunity to sever ties with the One Sith. The Galactic Federation Triumvirate, the new governing body of the galaxy, dispatched the Imperial Knight Yalta Val to oversee the completion of the Carreras G51 communications array. This Triumvirate had been created by merging the Fel Empire, the Jedi Council, and the Galactic Alliance, which were the primary opposition forces against Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire. Darth Wredd, along with his Sith master, ambushed the Imperial Knight's shuttle and took him captive. During the ensuing conflict, Darth Wredd eliminated his Sith master and defected from the One Sith. Assuming Yalta Val's identity, he used the Carreras communications array to broadcast his manifesto across the galaxy. His attempt to kill Yalta Val was foiled by Ania Solo, a junk dealer and descendant of Han Solo. Despite being exposed, Darth Wredd successfully escaped into space.

The Assassination

The Sith infiltrator among the Snivvian delegation

Subsequent to the Carreras Incident, Darth Wredd launched an insurgency targeting the One Sith. His motivations were to avenge the destruction of his home and the loss of his family, as well as to establish a new Sith order founded on the Rule of Two. By 138 ABY, Cadomai Prime was in dire need of establishing a new, dependable trade route. This need arose from the devastation inflicted by the Sith on the Calamari system in 137 ABY, which had attracted a significant criminal presence to the devastated region. Consequently, a delegation consisting of three Snivvian politicians initiated negotiations with two Gran representatives to achieve this goal. Unbeknownst to the delegates, one of the Snivvian envoys was secretly a One Sith operative working undercover, having infiltrated Cadomai's government. Following an unproductive meeting with the Gran, the Snivvian Sith was ambushed by Darth Wredd, a renegade Sith apprentice who had begun a campaign to track down and eliminate members of the One Sith.

During their confrontation, the Snivvian Sith retaliated against Darth Wredd using Force lightning. He then propelled the weakened Sith through the building's window with a kick, causing him to fall onto an outdoor platform. The Snivvian Sith then reprimanded Wredd for disrupting his mission and for attracting unwanted attention on Carreras. Before the Snivvian Sith could throw his attacker to his death, Darth Wredd managed to activate his lightsaber and fatally impale the Snivvian through the chest. Darth Wredd then threw his foe's body down the building, where it was discovered by several pedestrians. As Wredd had scratched the Snivvian's face during the fight revealing his Sith tattoos, it was only then that the Snivvian politicians and the Galactic Federation Triumvirate realized that the Snivvian Sith was merely one of many Sith infiltrators in their midst.

Aftermath

News of the Snivvian Sith infiltrator's assassination on Cadomai Prime quickly spread to the galactic capital, Coruscant. During a meeting among Triumvirate officials, including Galactic Empress Marasiah Fel, the Jedi representative verified Darth Wredd's involvement in the Sith infiltrator's death on Cadomai Prime. He also connected Darth Wredd to the Carreras Incident. Fel added that Wredd had also assassinated the One Sith infiltrator at the Triumvirate's legation on Ceitia Five. When Empress Fel inquired about the Triumvirate's response, the Jedi expressed concern over the revelation that the One Sith order had been systematically infiltrating governments throughout the galaxy.

Antares Draco, a fellow Imperial Knight, urged his council colleagues not to overlook the threat posed by Darth Wredd, citing his public threats, the destruction of the Carreras array, and his attempted murder of Master Val. The Jedi member added that Wredd had his own independent agenda from the One Sith, which made him more dangerous. Gar Stazi, the Galactic Alliance Admiral, disagreed with his fellow committee members' assessments of Darth Wredd as a threat to the Triumvirate. He suggested that they should allow the rogue Sith to continue his actions, as he was aiding them in eliminating the One Sith. Despite Draco's objections, the Empress sided with Stazi's arguments and ordered the Triumvirate to cease pursuing Wredd. Shortly thereafter, the Imperial Knight Jao Assam experienced a vision of Darth Wredd attacking Marasiah Fel. This vision prompted the young Knight to abandon his orders and embark on a mission to hunt down Darth Wredd.
