Fire (city)

Fire, a man-made trading city in space, resided within the Aakaash system. Its orbit around the planets Land and Wind traced the shape of an "8". Functioning as a crucial connector, it linked Land, the political hub of the Aakaash system, with Wind, its economic powerhouse. Initially a modest space station in its early days, Fire expanded over two thousand years into a sprawling metropolis housing millions. The station city was home to a significant number of humans, as well as most of the Aakaash system's minor alien populations, including species like Anacondans and Mon Calamari. The station's trade city was under the leadership of President Chen Yao around 200 BBY.

Near the close of the High Republic Era in 200 BBY, the Knights of Silver Dawn transported a consignment of enigmatic tenebrae from Land to Fire, intending to forward it to Wind for use in new biological water purification equipment. However, Zhang Jincheng, Fire's station manager, abetted the Jade Rats in stealing the enigmatic tenebrae. The Jade Rats, a band of thieves with a history of pilfering from Fire over the preceding months, subsequently sold it to the Blue Dragon, the system's most formidable pirate organization. Determined to recover their stolen goods, the Knights' elite red apricot squad pursued the enigmatic tenebrae to Fire. There, the squad assaulted the Jade Rats and acquired a tracking device that led them to the Blue Dragon in the nearby Lake asteroid field. Although Zhang Jincheng manipulated the Knights into attacking the Blue Dragon, seeking to become the president of Fire by eliminating the Blue Dragon from the Aakaash system, the red apricot team chose to continue their mission after the enigmatic tenebrae before pinning the blame for Fire's recent misfortunes on Zhang.

Description

Fire was located in the Aakaash system, serving as an important transit point between Land and Wind.

Fire, a crucial component of the Outer Rim's Aakaash system, evolved from a humble space station in its initial days around 2200 BBY into a bustling city housing millions of permanent inhabitants by 200 BBY. As a trade-focused space city nestled between the planets Land and Wind – the political and economic epicenters of the Aakaash system, respectively – Fire served as a vital and indispensable transit nexus throughout its two thousand years of existence. The gravitational forces of these two major planets dictated the Fire station's unique "8"-shaped orbit. By 200 BBY, this entirely artificial metropolis had garnered a reputation within the wider galaxy that sometimes rivaled even Land, the system's capital.

Equipped with continuously updated modules, Fire had transformed into a colossal spaceport by 200 BBY. At nearly any given moment, starships from across the Aakaash system could be seen arriving at or departing from its ports district. Resembling a spindle with pointed ends and a rounded center, Fire's form mirrored that of a human eye. The city's core was hollow, providing space for the renowned city core, Irregular, a silver sphere emblematic of the Aakaash system's technological and industrial prowess. Irregular contained thirty-two hypermatter reactors, which delivered an almost limitless power supply to the space city, thus earning it the moniker of a nightless city, a beacon of light against the darkness of space. Irregular also generated the gravitational field that sustained a habitable environment for the city's residents. The station's Heavenly enigma Ward was the most prosperous and the location of the Heavenly Enigma Jade House, a tower in excess of 500 meters tall with over 150 floors wherein the station's most important financial institutions as well as branch offices of the major corporations of Land and Wind were located. The top 10 floors were the dedicated offices and living space of the station manager.

History

In 200 BBY, during the latter stages of the High Republic Era, Fire was troubled by the activities of the Jade Rats, a collective of thieves. The Blue Dragon, the Aakaash system's most powerful paramilitary organization, also posed a threat to Fire.

The Knights of Silver Dawn suffered the loss of a consignment of enigmatic tenebrae, a hazardous biological agent intended for use as a primary component in new biological water purification equipment on Wind. Consequently, the Knights' red apricot squad was dispatched to retrieve the missing shipment. The squad journeyed to Fire, where they subdued the Jade Rats and traced the enigmatic tenebrae to the Blue Dragon. The Knights also uncovered that Fire's station masters had permitted the Blue Dragon pirates to acquire the biological hazard. The squad then realized that the ambitious manager of the station was manipulating them to attempt to take down the Blue Dragon pirates. Sean, secretly a Jedi Padawan investigating corruption within the Aakaash system and the newest member of the squad, boosted red apricot squad's morale by suggesting that they place the blame of recent misfortunes on the manager after raiding the Dragon. Seeing that the Blue Dragon was affiliated with the star system's corrupt authorities through the contact Zhang Níngtao, an official of Security Bureau, Captain An Ping led his red apricot squad in an attempt to capture the official and ransom him to the Dragon for the return of the enigmatic tenebrae, taking the red apricot to the nearby Lake [asteroid field](/article/asteroid_field], where Zhang Níngtao was located.
