A male Toydarian named Garri resided in Pau City on the planet of Utapau during the era of the Clone Wars. He managed a commercial building within the city, accepting payment to facilitate an arms transaction supported by Separatists. This arrangement led to the death of Jedi Master Tu-Anh. Some days subsequently, the Jedi Order dispatched Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, both Jedi, to conduct an inquiry. Their investigation involved examining the location of the arms deal and then questioning Garri, during which Skywalker menaced him with a lightsaber to elicit the truth.
During the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Galactic Republic, Garri, a male Toydarian, made his home on the planet Utapau. He operated an office building in Pau City, the capital of Utapau. During the aforementioned war, a Separatist IG-100 MagnaGuard compensated Garri with 20 druggats in exchange for leaving the building's doors unlocked and refraining from asking questions. Garri obliged, and the premises were utilized by a pair of MagnaGuards, an Amani, and a Sugi arms dealer to negotiate the sale of a substantial kyber crystal. Jedi Master Tu-Anh, who happened to be on the planet, became aware of the clandestine meeting and began observing it from afar. However, she was detected and fatally shot by one of the MagnaGuards using a precision laser dart, resulting in her death.
Several days afterward, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker received orders to travel to Utapau to investigate the circumstances surrounding Master Tu-Anh's demise, a dispatched mission. Following their examination of the location where Tu-Anh was killed, they noticed a small hole in the window of Garri's building, created by the laser dart. Accompanied by Garri, the two Jedi commenced their investigation of the building. Garri claimed to be unaware of who had occupied the offices at the time of Tu-Anh's shooting. When Kenobi pressed Garri further, the Toydarian continued to deny any knowledge but inadvertently revealed that a meeting had indeed taken place. Enraged, Skywalker drew his lightsaber and held it against Garri's throat, compelling him to recount his transaction with the droid. Garri was subsequently taken to the Pau City Police Station while the Jedi continued their inquiry. Governor Torul Blom learned about the Jedi's treatment of Garri and later cited it as one of the reasons he wanted them to leave the planet.
During the Jedi's interrogation, Garri tried, but failed, to hide his knowledge until threatened. At that point, he swore on the life of his grandmother Venta that he was telling the truth.
Garri's creation was for "A Death on Utapau," an episode from the cancelled sixth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. This episode was later released as an unfinished story reel on StarWars.com in 2014 as a part of The Clone Wars Legacy. Stephen Stanton provided the voice for the Toydarian in the episode.
