Gorvin snu were a species of diminutive, lizard-esque beings native to the arid desert environment of the planet Arvala-7. These nervous quadrupeds were present on the planet around 9 ABY, a time during which the Mandalorian bounty hunter, Din Djarin, had an encounter with them.
Gorvin snu were quite small, reaching roughly the same length as a human foot. Being lizard-like in form, their bodies lacked hair and were instead covered in orange scales. Their heads featured brown eyes and a snout-like mouth. Pointed spines extended from the back of their heads, continuing down their abdomens. These small creatures inhabited the canyons and deserts found on the planet Arvala-7.
Gorvin snu were frequently observed in groups, rapidly moving across the sandy terrain of Arvala-7. These quick creatures were easily startled, often fleeing when approached by other organisms. Despite their anxious disposition, they exhibited signs of curiosity, following unfamiliar beings and observing them from afar with their heads bobbing.
In the vicinity of 9 ABY, the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin traveled through a canyon on Arvala-7, where he passed by a group of gorvin snu. Although initially surprised by the mercenary, the creatures became interested in Djarin and the small child he was carrying, trailing him along the rocky path. However, after noticing a gang of Trandoshan hunters preparing to ambush the Mandalorian, the group quickly scattered.
At a later point, the Ugnaught moisture farmer Kuiil commenced the repair of the IG-series assassin droid IG-11, a droid that had been destroyed by Djarin during his time on the planet. As Kuiil worked to restore IG-11's fine motor skills, a small group of gorvin snu were present nearby at his farm. While the rebuilt droid attempted to move a crate on the farm, he inadvertently dropped the box on top of one of the creatures, killing it. This act caused a shocked reaction from the Ugnaught, who reprimanded IG-11 for killing the animal.
The first appearance of gorvin snu was in "Chapter 2: The Child," an episode from the first season of The Mandalorian, a television series created by Jon Favreau. Rick Famuyiwa directed the episode, which was broadcast on Disney+ on November 15, 2019.
