IG-12

IG-12 came into existence as a repurposed mech. A crew of Anzellan droidsmiths constructed it from components salvaged from the assassin droid IG-11. IG-11 had previously sacrificed itself via self-destructing during the Clash on Nevarro. After this event, portions of the droid were recovered, notably its damaged memory circuit. Because IG memory circuits were no longer in production by the time of the New Republic, they were exceedingly rare, rendering IG-11 irreparable. Nevertheless, the Anzellans reconfigured the droid into IG-12. This new form could only be operated manually and was reprogrammed with simple "yes" and "no" responses. High Magistrate Greef Karga gifted it to Grogu, despite Din Djarin's reservations, who felt Grogu was too young to control such heavy machinery. Grogu used the mech during the Mandalorians' mission to retake their homeworld of Mandalore. During a conflict between the Mandalorians and Moff Gideon's forces, Gideon's Praetorian Guards destroyed IG-12. Following the battle, Djarin utilized the remains of IG-12 to rebuild IG-11.
