Supervisors of the ISB, or simply supervisors, were officers belonging to the Imperial Security Bureau who worked in the Investigations department. Their responsibilities included the direction of intelligence activities and the allocation of assets within their assigned sectors, as determined by Major Lio Partagaz. As members of the ISB, they adhered to the standard uniforms, featuring white tunics paired with black trousers. Their ranks were indicated by single-rowed rank insignia plaques; captains displayed four blue tiles, while lieutenants had three blue tiles. Other supervisors utilized a single row plaque displaying two red tiles followed by two blue tiles.
These ISB Supervisors managed their own teams of subordinate ISB officers, known as ISB Attendants. These attendants wore gray tunics instead of white and displayed two single-rowed blue tiles. The ISB Supervisors convened as the ISB Board, reporting to Major Partagaz. Partagaz presided over meetings with the supervisors, sometimes including their attendants. During these meetings, supervisors provided briefings, and Partagaz directed the drafting of reports and assignment of tasks. Colonel Wullf Yularen occasionally attended emergency sessions. The ISB Supervisors operated from the ISB Central Office on Coruscant, where they had their own individual offices.
In 5 BBY, during the [Imperial Era](/article/imperial_era], Lieutenant Blevin oversaw six sectors, including the Morlana sector. The area of Lieutenant Grandi encompassed the Gaulus sector, Lieutenant Lonni Jung was responsible for the Abrion sector, Lieutenant Dedra Meero had control over two sectors, including the one containing Sev Tok, and Captain [Lagret]'s](/article/lagret) area of supervision included Arvala-Six.
After the Ferrix incident that occurred in the Morlana sector, ISB Supervisors attended a standard briefing with Major Partagaz. Supervisor Grandi reported on the Ryloth sector, noting that an increase in detentions was expected, necessitating a larger blackline budget. Major Partagaz criticized Grandi's vagueness when questioned about the intended use of the new resources, demanding specific details. Supervisor Lagret gave an update on the conflict on Arvala-Six, but had not yet finished the assigned memorandum. Supervisor Jung gave more details on the need for increased protection for traffic entering the Abrion sector.
The initial appearance of ISB Supervisors was in "Aldhani," the fourth episode of the first season of the live-action web-TV series Andor. The 2023 reference book Star Wars: Dawn of Rebellion: The Visual Guide presents a conflicting depiction of the rank plaques worn by ISB supervisors compared to the TV series. According to Dawn of Rebellion, ISB supervisors with rank plaques displaying three blue tiles were actually captains, although such officers held the rank of lieutenant in the series.
