Kiran Shah, a 4′2″ actor and stunt performer, was born in Kenya on September 28, 1956. Initially brought in only for costume fittings for the original Ewok costumes in Return of the Jedi, he went on to portray Brethupp, numerous stunt Ewoks, and the tortured power droid. He later returned to the Star Wars universe in the 2010s, playing Infrablue Zedbeddy Coggins, Pru Sweevant, and Teedo in The Force Awakens, as well as Neepers Panpick in The Last Jedi. In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Shah contributed as a creature and droid performer, also taking on the role of the Blutopian Oolin Musters. Additionally, he played Karjj in Solo: A Star Wars Story. In The Rise of Skywalker, Shah's roles include the Aki-Aki Nambi Ghima, the mechanic Yipsit, and a GNK-series power droid. More recently, Shah worked as a puppeteer for the Disney+ series Andor, where he brought to life the character Granik and a slumbering Blutopian.
Since 2003, Shah has been recognized by the Guinness World Record organization as the "shortest professional stuntman currently working in film". His extensive filmography includes titles such as Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Dark Crystal, the villainous dwarf Ginarrbrik in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, where he served as the scale double for Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins.
