Koda Station, a space station situated in the Outer Rim Territories, housed a notable establishment known as The End of the World tavern. Around the time of 1 ABY, Arvel Crynyd, who served as a flight instructor for the Rebel Alliance, encountered a representative from the Virgillian Free Alignment resistance group at this tavern. It was there that he received the somber news regarding the death of one of his students. Following Crynyd's abrupt departure, Demms Ryx, the bartender, approached the instructor to offer solace, and they shared a drink. Upon Crynyd's subsequent visit, he and Ryx connected further, leading the bartender to ultimately leave Koda Station and join Crynyd and the rebels at their spacedock.
Within the Western Reaches region of the Outer Rim Territories, Koda Station was a space station that could be found at grid coordinates I-18 on the Standard Galactic Grid. A hyperspace route provided a connection to the celestial body known as Ryoone.
During the period of the Galactic Civil War between the Rebel Alliance and the opposing Galactic Empire, Demms Ryx, a Volpai, served as one of the bartenders at the The End of the World tavern located on Koda Station. In the vicinity of 1 ABY, Arvel Crynyd, a flight instructor responsible for training rebel pilots, was summoned to Koda Station by Dagger, a representative of the resistance movement known as the Virgillian Free Alignment. Dagger was there to relay a message from one of the pilots under Crynyd's tutelage. Their meeting took place at The End of the World, where Dagger delivered the news of the death of one of his students, Raf, along with a charred fragment of the deceased pilot's starfighter and the representative's condolences. Crynyd then stormed out of the tavern, prompting Ryx, with concern, to follow him to offer support and a drink. After Ryx politely dismissed Dagger, the Volpai arranged for another bartender to cover his shift and sat down with the flight instructor, engaging in a conversation about hyperspace and Crynyd's personal beliefs.

Subsequently, Pieter, another rebel pilot, brought Crynyd back to Koda Station to negotiate the acquisition of salvaged components for RZ-1 A-wing interceptors, the very starfighter model that Pieter, the late Raf, and other students of Crynyd flew. Ryx, anticipating Crynyd's return, met with him for a drink. Following this, Crynyd went back to the spacedock where he instructed the pilots. Demms, gathering his belongings, departed Koda Station and secured a ride to the spacedock to join Crynyd and assist the rebels. Eventually, the two became romantically involved and established a home on the planet Cerea with their daughter Starr, all while Crynyd's involvement in the rebellion grew.
Koda Station was depicted on a galactic map contained within the book titled Traveler's Guide to Batuu, authored by the historian Eloc Throno. In the year 34 ABY, several screens aboard the Star Cruiser Halcyon, belonging to Chandrila Star Line, displayed a partial map of the galaxy, indicating the location of Koda Station.
Koda Station was first introduced into the new Star Wars canon through an unlabeled representation on a galactic map, featured in the StarWars.com article "Where in the Galaxy Are the Worlds of Star Wars: The Force Awakens?" by Mark Newbold, published on January 29, 2016. Later, the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a boxed set from Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying series released in August 2016, revealed the station's name. The first in-universe depiction of Koda Station appeared on a map accessible within Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive role-playing experience at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, which initially opened to the public on March 1, 2022. The space station was initially presented as Koda Space Station in the 1997 Star Wars Legends novel Galaxy of Fear: The Brain Spiders, the seventh book in the Star Wars: Galaxy of Fear series penned by John Whitman.
The reference book Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: Traveler's Guide to Batuu identifies Koda Station as a planet, while the Galaxy Map released to promote the book Star Wars: Timelines identifies it as a space station. This article considers the information from the Galaxy Map to be the factual information since the map is the most recent source.
