The story resumes immediately where the previous issue concluded: the Jedi, along with Antares Draco, Ganner Krieg, Missionary Vao, the injured Princess Marasiah Fel, Syn, Deliah, and Cade are defending themselves against a Sith assault on Vendaxa. Marasiah Fel is wounded while defending Cade. Enraged, Cade seizes her lightsaber and, breaking his previous promise to never wield one again, engages Darth Nihl in combat alongside his former master. During the confrontation, Antares discovers that the Princess is still alive and escorts her back to the Mynock. Wolf departs to board the Mynock, while Cade continues his battle with Nihl. Syn intervenes to assist Cade but is swiftly Force Pushed away by Nihl. This prompts Cade to knock Nihl off the edge of a cliff. After defeating his foe, Cade calls for Shado to accompany him as he leaves for the Mynock. The group manages to escape before the Sith can board their vessel. During their escape, Cade uses the Dark side to heal the Princess, mending all her battle wounds. After delivering the Princess and the Imperial Knights back to Bastion, Cade, accompanied by Shado and Sazen, secretly departs during the night, heading towards The Wheel. He leaves Syn and Deliah behind, stating that he cannot trust Syn.
