Following the destruction of his previous Eta-2 during the events of the Battle of Coruscant, the Jedi Master known as Obi-Wan Kenobi took to the skies in a blue Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor, this occurred before the Battle of Utapau.
The Jedi High Council tasked Master Obi-Wan Kenobi with the mission to locate and apprehend General Grievous, who they discovered was in hiding on Utapau. After the loss of his red Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor and his astromech droid, R4-P17, during the Battle of Coruscant, Obi-Wan was provided with a new blue Eta-2 for this specific mission, as well as a replacement astromech droid, R4-G9. Kenobi made the decision to travel to the planet ahead of the others, with the intention of diverting Grievous's attention until Clone Commander Cody and the 212 Attack Battalion arrived aboard the Vigilance. Kenobi connected his starfighter to a Syliure-45 hyperdrive module and jumped into hyperspace, setting a course for Utapau.

Upon his arrival at Pau City, Kenobi requested that port administrator Tion Medon provide fuel for his starfighter. After confirming that Grievous was indeed present on Utapau, Kenobi instructed R4 to return the starfighter to the Vigilance and inform Cody that he had engaged the general in combat. Kenobi observed as R4 and his starfighter departed from the planet. Later on, Kenobi would utilize Grievous's Belbullab-22 heavy starfighter, known as the Soulless One, to make his escape from the planet after barely surviving the execution of Order 66.
Obi-Wan Kenobi served as both the pilot and captain of this particular starfighter. R4-G9, Kenobi's newly acquired astromech droid, took on the roles of navigator and repair technician for the ship, handling any damage sustained during combat situations.
