During the Republic Era, there existed a Force-sensitive being named Prie. As a Jedi youngling, she lived on the Core Worlds planet of Coruscant in the Jedi crèche. Here, she was friends with Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was also a youngling and a fellow Jedi. As a member of the Jedi Order, Prie continued to develop her abilities in the Force, learning alongside other trainees in her initiate clan, Kybuck Clan. She enjoyed playing pranks with her friends, but she also grew to dislike games and would often try to cheat. With her clan, she prepared to journey to Ilum in 49 BBY to find a kyber crystal for her lightsaber.
By 41 BBY, a Jedi Master who specialized in unarmed combat and creating Force-bonds with animals chose Prie as their Padawan. She moved into shared quarters with her new Master and eagerly studied with him at the Jedi Temple. Due to her Master's specialization, she dedicated much of her time to protecting new settlements on undeveloped worlds, embarking on numerous missions.
In 41 BBY, Prie assisted Kenobi in removing a poisonous demon squid from his arm in the Padawan dining hall of the Temple. Although her friend wanted to harm the squid, Prie loved the creature and started communicating with it. Shortly afterward, she shared another meal with her peers in the dining hall and discussed the argument between Kenobi's Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, and the Jedi High Council. Prie comforted Kenobi, suggesting that if Jinn left the Jedi Order because of the disagreement, he could be assigned to a different Master for training. In 40 BBY, Kenobi was reminded of Prie's encounter with a large horned beast during one of her missions, envying the interesting experience compared to his trips to the Jedi Archives.

Prie, a Force-sensitive individual, was a member of the Jedi Order during the Republic Era. During her childhood, she lived with Obi-Wan Kenobi, a fellow Jedi youngling, and other peers in shared quarters in the Jedi crèche on the Core Worlds planet of Coruscant. Prie was later assigned to the initiate clan Kybuck Clan with Kenobi and fellow trainees Siri Tachi and Gehren Rand. From a young age, Prie began to further develop her skills in the Force, attending lessons with her peers and becoming eager to learn.
Once, Prie and Kenobi participated in a lesson led by Jedi Master Yaddle, who quickly became annoyed by their childish behavior. Prie also befriended Bolla Ropal, a Rodian youngling assigned to a different training clan. While at the Jedi Temple, she and her friends played pranks, including stealing Ropal's favorite spoon. On another occasion, she and her clanmates snuck into the lower levels of the Temple to swim in pools for aquatic Jedi. Although she reluctantly played hide-and-sense, a game where a blindfolded person tries to find their peers by sensing them, Prie often tried to cheat and grew to dislike games. In 49 BBY, the younglings of Kybuck Clan prepared to travel to the sacred Jedi planet of Ilum for The Gathering to obtain kyber crystals for their lightsabers.
By 41 BBY, a Jedi Master who specialized in unarmed combat and creating Force-bonds with animals chose Prie as their Padawan. At her new Master's request, Prie moved into shared quarters with him, which included a Padawan room next to his bedchamber for easier studying. Because of her Master's expertise, she spent most of her time protecting new settlements on undeveloped worlds. Prie became very interested in both plant and animal life, learning how to connect with creatures in the Force from her Master. She and her Master were sent on several missions, including one where the Padawan rode a large horned beast. At some point, Prie found a shell during her travels and gave it to Kenobi. He kept it as a memento, thinking it might have come from a terrifying creature that Prie loved.

In 41 BBY, Prie went to the Padawan dining hall in the Coruscant Temple and sat at a table to eat with her friends. During their meal, Kenobi panicked when a poisonous demon squid jumped out of his scalding-hot soup and attached itself to his arm, placed there as a joke by Ropal. While her friend begged for help to remove the creature, Prie was immediately delighted by the demon squid and disapproved of Kenobi's desire to hurt it. Approaching his side of the table, Prie began gently stroking the demon squid, which calmed it down and loosened its grip on Kenobi.
Prie carefully lifted the demon squid off her friend, allowing it to rest comfortably on her wrist. As she continued to admire the creature, Kenobi confronted Ropal about the prank, as the Rodian began laughing. Although Kenobi felt embarrassed by the incident when confronted by his Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, Prie scolded her friend for not being more careful with the young demon squid, as he could have hurt it. Kenobi was confused, staring at his friend as the now docile demon squid nestled between Prie's neck and shoulder. As Prie continued to whisper comforting words to her new pet, Kenobi decided to leave the dining hall with his Master to meditate. Later that night, Kenobi reflected on how much he appreciated Prie's help with the demon squid earlier that day, noting that her and her Master's affinity for animals was a very useful skill.
Shortly after, Prie's Jedi Master told her that Jinn had been arguing with the Jedi High Council. Less than a day later, she went to the Padawan dining hall and ate with several friends, including Ropal and Tachi. Prie told the Padawans what her Master had said about Jinn and then listened to Tachi as she changed the subject. During their meal, Kenobi joined his friends and was confused when they immediately showed concern for him. Prie told Kenobi about his Master's recent argument with the Council, which shocked him.
While Ropal teased Kenobi about the situation, Prie snapped at the Rodian to stop joking. She gently assured her friend that if Jinn chose to leave the Jedi Order with his former Master, Count Dooku, he would be assigned to another Master to complete his training. Upset by the conversation, Kenobi quickly left the dining hall without saying goodbye. The next day, Kenobi returned to the dining hall and was disappointed that Prie and his other friends were not there. While on a mission to the Outer Rim planet Lenahra shortly after, Kenobi thought of Prie several times and how much she would have enjoyed interacting with the animals he encountered. He eventually regretted going alone and missed the camaraderie he shared with her and his other friends, acknowledging his fear of losing his closeness with his colleagues because they were assigned to different Masters.
While at the Coruscant Temple in 40 BBY, Kenobi remembered Prie telling him a story about her travels, which included riding a large horned beast. He felt that her experiences on missions were more interesting than his boring trips to the Temple's Jedi Archives.
From an early age, Prie had a sense of humor with her fellow initiates during lessons and often made childish pranks and jokes with friends. However, as a youngling, she also grew to dislike games and often chose to cheat blatantly. After becoming a Padawan, Prie became more passionate about her studies and was encouraged by her Master to pursue her interests in animal and plant life. As a pair, the Jedi worked well together on missions, often spending most of their time dealing with fauna-related issues. Prie's genuine happiness and enthusiasm for animals often led her to interact with creatures that others found scary, including a demon squid that Kenobi had been terrified of.
Prie had dark hair and brown eyes. As a Padawan, she kept most of her hair braided away from her face, with the remaining strands woven into a Padawan braid.
While in the Coruscant Jedi Temple, Prie wore trousers.
Prie was first mentioned in Master & Apprentice, a 2019 novel by Claudia Gray. She first appeared in the 2022 young-adult novel Padawan, by Kiersten White.
