Siri Tachi served as a female representative of the Jedi Order during the latter part of the Republic Era. Familiar to Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, Tachi once shared a midday meal with him within the walls of the Jedi Temple. During this meal, Kenobi entertained the thought of making physical contact with her discreetly under the table, a contemplation that subsequently led him to believe he warranted reprimand from the Jedi Council. Not long after the Clone Wars commenced, Tachi was present at a Knighting Ceremony that celebrated the elevation of several new Jedi Knights, including one who had previously been her Padawan. After the fall of the Jedi Order, Kenobi, in his state as a Force spirit, recalled Tachi.
During the concluding decades of the Republic Era, Siri Tachi held a position as a female member of the Jedi Order. She was acquainted with Obi-Wan Kenobi, a fellow Jedi. On at least one occasion, the pair shared a midday meal at the Jedi Temple located on the planet Coruscant, during which Kenobi contemplated touching her hand beneath the table. However, given the Jedi's principles of non-attachment, Kenobi was concerned that even the mere thought of acting on his desires toward Tachi warranted punishment from the Jedi Council. Furthermore, Kenobi suspected that Tachi would have welcomed a physical relationship had he ever expressed interest in pursuing one. As a Padawan, Tachi was under the tutelage of a Jedi Master who frequently included her in significant missions.
The Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, began in 22 BBY. Because the Jedi Order was in service to the Republic, its members were immediately involved with the newly created Grand Army of the Republic. At that time, Tachi had a Padawan under her guidance. Due to the exigencies of the war, the Order expedited the promotion of several senior Padawans to the rank of Jedi Knight. A mass Knighting Ceremony was conducted at the Jedi Temple training ground a few weeks after the conflict began. Tachi's former apprentice was among the new Knights recognized at the ceremony, which also included Anakin Skywalker, D'urban Wen-Hurd, Olana Chion, Cyruss Okent, and Keer Stenwyt. Tachi was one of the available mentors who attended the ceremony for the new Knights.
The Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic were brought down at the end of the war in 19 BBY by the schemes of the Sith, their ancient adversaries. Kenobi survived the initial stages of the Great Jedi Purge and went into exile from the newly established Galactic Empire for a period of nineteen years before dying during the rescue of Princess Leia Organa from the Imperial Death Star superweapon. He subsequently transitioned into a Force spirit. Three years later, in 3 ABY, Kenobi reflected on his past with Tachi while contemplating how Yoda, another Jedi Master in exile, maintained the Order's penchant for theatrical displays. Kenobi added that he had never questioned the Order about this whilst living in the Temple, and that he sometimes was not able to recognize what he believed in and what had been told to him over and over before he was old enough to understand its meaning.

The Star Wars canon first referenced Siri Tachi in "There Is Always Another," a short story penned by Mackenzi Lee and featured in the 2020 anthology From a Certain Point of View. Her initial appearance occurred in the 2022 novel Brotherhood, authored by [Mike Chen](/article/mike_chen_(author)]. Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, Siri Tachi was first introduced in Jedi Apprentice: The Captive Temple, the seventh novel in the Jedi Apprentice junior novel series, written by Jude Watson. Tachi, a Human female who eventually attained the rank of Jedi Master, was a friend and at times a romantic interest of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Lee drew inspiration to include Tachi in her short story because she was a fan of the Jedi Apprentice series.
