Rel

Rel was a member of the Nihil pirate organization, holding the Strike rank within Lourna Dee's Tempest. Rel served under the Cloud Ultident Margrona. Margrona's unit, including Rel, journeyed to the Outer Rim Territories planet of Elphrona with the intention of kidnapping the Blythe family. The goal was to ransom them to their affluent relatives residing in the Core Worlds. During this raid, the Jedi stationed at the Elphrona Outpost were alerted and gave chase to the pirates. Upon realizing they were being pursued, Margrona tried to set up a trap, instructing Rel and Egga to find advantageous positions on opposite sides of the canyon they were traversing.

Jedi Master Porter Engle, however, sensed the impending ambush. Although his steelee mount met its death at the hands of one of the pirates, he directed Loden Greatstorm and Bell Zettifar to continue their pursuit. One of the pirates fired at Engle from behind, but he deflected the shots. Engle then retaliated by throwing his [lightsaber](/article/lightsaber], killing the attacker and bisecting both him and the ironstone he was using for cover. Using telekinesis, Engle deflected another shot from the remaining pirate, who then retreated to their own mount in an attempt to flee. The Ikkrukkian Jedi caught up and, presuming this pirate was the one who killed his mount, injured them with their own blaster fire. As Engle prepared to take the steelee and resume chasing the pirates, the wounded pirate, who Engle believed to be of a species with a differently located brain, sat up. Ember, the charhound companion of the Jedi, intervened and saved Engle by unleashing fire on the pirate until they were incapacitated. The Jedi Master and his charhound then resumed their pursuit. Ultimately, the Jedi managed to rescue three members of the Blythe family and eliminate Margrona along with all her Strikes. However, Dee and her [Tempest](/article/tempest] captured Greatstorm and Ottoh Blythe.
