Skirmish on Calior

In the year 3 ABY, a brief battle unfolded on the Outer Rim Territories planet of Calior. This conflict involved the Crimson Dawn criminal organization and the Revengers, who were later assisted by the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader. The catalyst was Crimson Dawn's Chief Regional Auditor, Cygnus Anton's attempt to seize Calior's southern water works for the Empire. Consequently, the Revengers, commanded by Ankala Sahm, launched an assault on the avian's troops.

Sahm employed a flamethrower in an attempt to ignite Anton. However, Anton was not actually present; Sahm had instead incinerated a holographic projection of the avian. Anton was, in reality, situated inside an All Terrain Scout Transport. Shortly thereafter, Vader's group of soldiers of fortune initiated an attack on Anton's forces. Vader, driven by his objective to eliminate Crimson Dawn, proceeded to obliterate the Chief Regional Auditor's vehicle, resulting in their demise.

Prelude

An Imperial stormtrooper speaks with Cygnus Anton.

Back in 3 ABY, the avian individual Cygnus Anton, affiliated with the Crimson Dawn criminal syndicate and holding the position of Chief Regional Auditor within the Galactic Empire, traveled to the Outer Rim Territories planet of Calior. His mission was to secure the planet's southern water works for the Empire's benefit. A hologram representing Anton was escorted by stormtroopers and Crimson Dawn guards, disembarking from a Lambda-class T-4a shuttle. Meanwhile, the real Chief Regional Auditor remained within one of their two All Terrain Scout Transports, specifically "AT-STs." A local human named Carrax expressed concern over the presence of Crimson Dawn troops. Anton's forces subsequently terminated Carrax to draw the attention of a gathering crowd.

The Chief Regional Auditor then articulated two demands: control of the southern water works and a monthly payment of 5,000 credits from the people of Calior to ensure continued access to the water facility. A group of fighters known as the Revengers then interrupted Anton, attacking the avian's forces due to the presence of Crimson Dawn personnel. A stormtrooper reminded Anton about the warning against openly displaying Crimson Dawn forces, which would inevitably attract the Revengers. Anton responded by stating that this was precisely the reason for their actions. The Revengers then proceeded to destroy the Lambda transport, resulting in a large explosion.

The skirmish

The Revengers—including Ankala Sahm, S'ira, and Tanka—advanced, utilizing a personal deflector shield to protect themselves from the laser fire of the Crimson Dawn guard and stormtroopers. Sahm deployed a flamethrower to incinerate Anton's hologram, causing the Chief Regional Auditor to taunt her and retaliate with their AT-ST.

Realizing they were trapped by Anton's forces, S'ira speculated that their attack on Anton might be their final confrontation with Crimson Dawn. Sahm then instructed the Revengers to focus their attacks on the avian commander's [vehicle](/article/transport]. However, before they could act, three contract killersChilla Zin, Loriach, and Ochi of Bestoon, serving the Imperial Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader—assisted in destroying one of the AT-STs before retreating behind cover. Vader then personally destroyed the two reconnaissance transports using his TIE Advanced, even as Anton attempted to offer an explanation.

Aftermath

Following Anton's defeat, Vader's team and the Revengers consumed some sustenance. Ochi informed Vader that he now possessed a group of disposable soldiers to utilize before deploying his true assassins. The Sith Lord then revealed that all those present were "expendable in the name of order." Shortly thereafter, Vader dispatched the Revengers and his assassins to the Outer Rim astronomical object Laecor, where they were to embark on a task that was likely to result in their deaths. Tanka commented that the Sith had rescued Calior's inhabitants and saved them from Anton's forces. Bounty hunter Beilert Valance countered by stating that Vader was merely exploiting them for the Empire's purposes and that his destruction of Crimson Dawn was not for their benefit.
