Mandalorian fleet

The Mandalorian fleet comprised a collection of starships, incorporating vessels of Mandalorian origin alongside stolen Imperial craft. This assemblage of starfighters and larger capital ships was initially brought together and placed under the command of Bo-Katan Kryze as she endeavored to reclaim Mandalore. However, the fleet's control was relinquished when her lieutenants, namely Axe Woves and Koska Reeves, chose to desert her, opting for a life of privateers with their respective crews. Notwithstanding this setback, Kryze successfully located the renegade Mandalorians after obtaining evidence confirming Mandalore's capacity to support life. She then engaged Woves in personal combat, emerging victorious and thereby regaining control of the fleet, which she then utilized to explore Mandalore in anticipation of its eventual resettlement.

Description

Lady Bo-Katan Kryze originally held leadership over the Mandalorian fleet, with Captain Axe Woves briefly at the helm later on. The fleet was composed of a variety of starship types. The flagship of the fleet was a Class 546 Arquitens-class command cruiser that belonged to Moff Gideon, who was part of a remnant of the Galactic Empire. Five Gozanti-class Assault Carriers accompanied the light cruiser, one of which was seized from Gideon's remnant by Kryze and her team on Trask. The fleet also possessed eight Mandalorian Kom'rk-class fighter/transports and approximately thirty Fang-class fighters. When stationed on Plazir-15, the fleet served as the core of the Mandalorian garrison, functioning as the planet's defense force.

History

During the New Republic Era, the fleet under Kryze's command was amassed, incorporating both Imperial and Mandalorian warships. In 9 ABY, Kryze, along with her team and Din Djarin, launched an assault on the water moon of Trask against Gideon's remnant. Their initial objective was to seize weapons from a Gozanti-class Assault Carrier; however, they ended up commandeering the entire Imperial vessel after eliminating its crew. Following the ship's capture, Kryze integrated it into her forces. Subsequently, Kryze, Djarin, Koska Reeves, and others participated in a rescue operation to retrieve the Mandalorian foundling Grogu after he had been abducted and imprisoned on board a Class 546 Arquitens-class cruiser. After defeating Moff Gideon, they secured the cruiser and added it to their fleet.

Despite these victories, Kryze was unable to acquire the highly sought-after Darksaber, which instead fell into Djarin's possession after he defeated Gideon in combat. Consequently, Kryze's forces rapidly disintegrated, with many members becoming mercenaries and privateers under Woves' leadership, offering their services for hire.

The fleet under Woves' command, landed on Plazir-15

The light cruiser, now distinguished by a mythosaur skull symbol painted on its underside, was later employed by the Mandalorian privateers to locate and capture a Quarren freighter commanded by Captain Shuggoth. Their objective was to retrieve a wanted Mon Calamari viceroy's son. Subsequently, the fleet congregated on the planet Plazir-15, where they were contracted to serve as the planet's standing army, effectively becoming a garrison. Eventually, Kryze journeyed to Plazir-15 to reclaim her fleet after she had joined the Tribe and relocated them to a permanent base in Nevarro. After locating her former crew, she challenged Woves to a duel and emerged victorious. With Djarin relinquishing the Darksaber due to his defeat at the hands of a cyborg on Mandalore whom Kryze subsequently eliminated, Kryze successfully regained control of her fleet.

Having regained possession of the fleet, Kryze returned with the privateers to Nevarro to unite with the Tribe's forces, merging the two factions with the ultimate goal of resettling and reclaiming Mandalore. Despite initial tensions, a feast organized by "the Armorer" to ease anxieties led to an agreement between warriors from both sides to form a task force aimed at retaking their homeworld. A scouting party was to land on the planet to prepare a perimeter for the fleet's arrival and the establishment of a new settlement. With preparations finalized, the fleet departed from Nevarro and arrived in orbit above Mandalore. Kryze's Gauntlet startfighter, along with the scouting party, descended to the surface, while the remainder of the fleet remained in orbit awaiting the all-clear signal. The scouting party encountered survivors still alive on the surface. Following the decision to travel to the Great Forge, the Armorer, along with wounded survivors, returned to the fleet aboard Kryze's Gauntlet starfighter. However, the scouting party was ambushed by Imperial commandos at the Great Forge.

In response to the ground ambush, Gideon dispatched TIE interceptors and bombers to destroy the Mandalorian fleet. However, thanks to Woves' timely warning, all but Woves evacuated the light cruiser and boarded the Kom'rk transports, which, along with the Fang fighters, entered the atmosphere to reinforce the ground assault. This left the flagship vulnerable, leading to its inevitable crash onto the surface of Mandalore. Woves directed the descent into Gideon's base before abandoning the ship at the last moment.
