The Mandalorian group led by Bo-Katan Kryze consisted of Mandalorian warriors commanded by Lady Bo-Katan Kryze, who previously held the title of Mand'alor. Kryze, along with her loyal followers, engaged in combat against the Imperial remnant under Gideon's control and actively sought after the Darksaber, all with the ultimate goal of one day being able to reclaim their home planet, Mandalore.
Back in 9 ABY, Kryze and her team were intercepting arms shipments originating from the illicit marketplace situated on Trask, which were destined for Moff Gideon's Imperial remnant. During this period, Kryze, alongside Koska Reeves and Axe Woves, came to the aid of Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his ward, Grogu, rescuing them from a group of Quarren fishermen. Initially, Djarin did not recognize Kryze and her unit as fellow Mandalorians. After the destruction of the Quarrens' vessel, Kryze and her team rescued Djarin from the remaining Quarren.
Kryze explained to Djarin that Gideon's remnant was utilizing resources looted from Mandalore during the Great Purge to procure weaponry. She further stated that she and her unit were intercepting these shipments with the intention of reclaiming Mandalore, despite Djarin's conviction that the planet was cursed. Kryze reassured him that this was untrue, realizing that their enemies aimed to further divide the remaining Mandalorians. Kryze then requested Djarin's assistance in continuing their hijacking operations. Djarin initially declined, explaining that he was trying to locate a Jedi to care for Grogu. Kryze, recalling Ahsoka Tano from the Clone Wars, shared with Djarin the location where he could find her in exchange for his assistance.
After revealing their target to Djarin, which was an Imperial Gozanti-class cruiser, Djarin, Kryze, Reeves, and Woves boarded it. Together, they managed to eliminate the stormtroopers present. During the hijacking, the cruiser's captain contacted Gideon, informing him of the situation. Gideon ordered him to scuttle the cruiser. However, Kryze and her unit successfully gained control of the cruiser. After capturing the captain, Kryze demanded to know if Gideon was still in possession of the Darksaber. The captain confirmed that he was before ending his own life using a suicide shocker. Upon completing the mission, Kryze instructed Djarin to travel to the city of Calodan on Corvus in order to locate Ahsoka Tano. Kryze and her unit then departed from Trask, and Djarin returned to the Razor Crest.
Woves later abandoned Kryze and Reeves on Lafete. At the port, Djarin and Boba Fett approached them. Initially, Reeves engaged in combat with Fett until Kryze intervened and stopped it. Djarin successfully persuaded her and Reeves to assist them in rescuing Grogu from Gideon. In return, she would be able to claim both Gideon's light cruiser and the Darksaber. With the assistance of New Republic Marshal Carasynthia Dune and assassin Fennec Shand, Kryze and her unit managed to seize control of Gideon's ship. However, she was unable to reclaim the Darksaber because Djarin disarmed and captured Gideon. Kryze and her allies then received aid from Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, who defeated Gideon's Dark Troopers.
