Stone Spires

The Stone Spires, also known as the devastated settlement, were located near the Rambler's Reach Valley on the Outer Rim planet of Koboh. This region contained the remnants of a village from the High Republic Era, which met its end after an Emergence event that destroyed Koboh's moon. This village served as the primary base for Jedi and Republic scientists who were investigating the Koboh Abyss nebula and the enigmatic [Koboh matter](/article/koboh_matter]; however, the destruction of the moon triggered seismic activity that caused the village to collapse into a volcanic rift. The ground fractured, and lava flowed out. The pressure was released via natural openings. Over time, the local inhabitants of Koboh began to call the exposed ruins the Stone Spires.

By 9 BBY, traveling through the Stone Spires became a dangerous undertaking. Nevertheless, the Bedlam Raiders, a group of local marauders, established a defensive position there to oppose Jedi Knight Cal Kestis, who was exploring the area in search of an Abyss compass. Within the Grand Courtyard, which was surrounded by a large manse reminiscent of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Kestis used psychometry and witnessed two Jedi destroying the compass with their lightsabers, before being murdered by an enraged Dagan Gera in cold blood.
