Tans

Tans, an Ubese individual identifying as non-binary, made their living as both a skilled slicer and a formidable bounty hunter. They became a member of Boushh's band of exiles, hailing from the planet Uba IV, and joined his crew.

Biography

Three years prior to the events of the War of the Bounty Hunters, Tans, a non-binary Ubese, faced exile from their home world of Uba IV. They subsequently became part of Boushh's crew, a group composed of fellow Ubese exiles who operated as bounty hunters. Other members included Ilini, Hareck, and Brene.

Tans, along with the rest of the crew, were employed by Silas Tagge during his unsuccessful coup attempt against the Executive Board of the Tagge Corporation. Later, Lady Domina Tagge engaged the crew's services, and Tans played a role in defending her from an assassination attempt orchestrated by Ronen Tagge and the Crimson Dawn.

Personality and traits

The experience of exile was challenging for Tans, but they found solace in Ilini's shared understanding. The declaration by Boushh that the crew was a family deeply affected Tans. They frequently addressed Boushh with the term "boss." Unlike Hareck, Tans displayed a greater willingness to undertake the duties of an assassin.

Skills and abilities

Tans possessed considerable skill as a slicer, demonstrating the ability to disable communication systems, secure systems, and unlock doors utilizing damaged consoles.

Equipment

Tans' attire consisted of a helmet in various shades of brown featuring a red visor, a red cape, and gray boots. They also wore beige garments complemented by a reddish-brown jerkin, a substantial belt, and studded gloves. A blaster pistol served as their weapon of choice.

Behind the scenes

Tans' character was introduced in War of the Bounty Hunters – Boushh 1, a standalone issue within the Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters comic book crossover. The issue was penned by Alyssa Wong and illustrated by David Baldeón. Following the issue's release, Wong took to Twitter to share additional details from their script notes, confirming Tans' non-binary gender identity and providing insights into their personality. Wong's naming of Tans was a tribute to game designer Ellys Tan.
