Tarr Kligson, a human belonging to the Kligson clan, made his living as a bounty hunter. Before Jango Fett's death in 22 BBY, he collaborated with the bounty hunter. In that year, the pair engaged in a heist in the Outer Rim Territories, during which Kligson sustained an injury. Kligson guided Fett to The Haven, a droid station that his family had been protecting for a millennium. Upon their arrival, Kligson pleaded with the station's droids to heal him, but they forced Fett to depart. Kligson was eventually repaired by the droids and chose to stay on the station.
A Force vision of the future, witnessed by Darth Vader, the Sith Lord, through the Eye of Webbish Bog, showed that sometime between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, members of the Rebel Alliance journeyed to the moon. Luke Skywalker had sensed a disturbance in the Force emanating from it. Arriving at the moon, they discovered that Ajax Sigma, a droid aboard a homesteader ship, was attacking the homesteaders, causing the disturbance. Skywalker requested that R2-D2 connect to the ship to determine if the homesteaders possessed any knowledge about the moon. R2 then uncovered the moon's name and shared it with the rebels. Lando Calrissian commented that he was unfamiliar with the moon and expressed relief that he wasn't in Kligson's position.
Also, somewhere in the timeframe of 3 ABY to 4 ABY, Kligson, who had also established himself as a cyborg fixer, joined forces with the Scourge to seize control of the station, thus becoming its new guardian, a role his ancestors had previously held. The crew of T'onga, a bounty hunter, made their way to the Haven in search of Kligson, hoping he could rescue their crewmate, the cyborg Beilert Valance. Upon their arrival, Valance was brought before Kligson, who, instead of providing aid, disclosed his intention to use Valance's body as a host to "usher in a perfect age." However, the Scourge abandoned Kligson to the bounty hunters after it had successfully taken control of Valance's body.
Bounty Hunters 37 marked the initial appearance of Tarr Kligson. In the comic, his right arm is illustrated with a salvaged forearm and hand originating from a B1-series battle droid. Conversely, on his variant cover for the same issue, while the forearm remains consistent, he is mistakenly shown with a five-fingered robotic right hand featuring sharpened tips, differing from his B1-like hand in the comic.
