Teemank, a female Chadra-Fan, entered into marriage with Beesar Tal-Apurna, also a Chadra-Fan. In the aftermath of the Great Disaster occurring in 232 BBY, she underwent training as a pilot alongside the Republic Defense Coalition to combat the Nihil pirate syndicate. Regrettably, during the Battle of Kur later that year, her life was tragically cut short when she was shot down by the marauders, resulting in her death. Subsequently, Tal-Apurna mourned her loss and, seeking retribution for her wife's demise, initiated spying activities on Kisma Uttersond, a doctor and Nihil collaborator, on behalf of the Jedi.
Teemank, a female of the Chadra-Fan species, shared a marriage with Beesar Tal-Apurna, another Chadra-Fan, for a considerable number of years during the High Republic Era. Following the catastrophic Great Hyperspace Disaster of 232 BBY, she decided to join the Republic Defense Coalition to wage war against the Nihil pirate group that was plaguing the galaxy, despite her wife's pleas against it. Despite initial skepticism from the coalition, who cited her age and questioned the Republic's need for Chadra-Fan assistance, Teemank resolutely overcame her fear of heights to become a trained pilot. Subsequently, Teemank imparted some of her piloting expertise to Tal-Apurna, although the latter's experience remained limited.

During her inaugural deployment to the Kur Nebula to confront the Nihil in the Battle of Kur that same year, the marauders targeted Teemank's ship, resulting in her death. The pilot's passing caused immense grief to her wife, who became deeply unhappy. Shortly thereafter, Jedi Master Emerick Caphtor reached out to Tal-Apurna, requesting her assistance in spying on Kisma Uttersond, a Chadra-Fan doctor and Nihil collaborator, located on the Outer Rim planet of Chad. Drawing strength from Teemank's memory, she agreed and eventually understood that her wife had initially joined the conflict to protect her family. While attempting to attach a tracking device to a Nihil freighter in 230 BBY, the vessel began its ascent before she could secure the technology. Instead, Tal-Apurna boarded the vessel, declaring that she was doing this for Teemank, and relayed the ship's coordinates to the Jedi.
Caphtor commanded a squadron of starfighters to the designated location, initiating a skirmish with the Nihil convoy present. Caphtor then boarded the vessel where the spy was located, but he and Tal-Apurna were ultimately compelled to flee the freighter with the assistance of Sian Holt, a private investigator, due to the Jedi's incapacitation following an encounter with one of the Nihil's Force-draining Nameless creatures. While aboard Holt's ship, Tal-Apurna recounted Teemank's death at the hands of the Nihil while pressuring Uttersond to divulge information about the pirates, implying potential harm to the doctor's family if he refused to cooperate.
Teemank and Tal-Apurna shared a deep and committed relationship, demonstrating profound affection for one another. However, Teemank felt an overwhelming need to join the battle against the Nihil, despite her wife's objections. Despite her fear of heights, the pilot underwent training as a Republic pilot, a decision that Tal-Apurna admired. Following Teemank's death, her wife experienced profound grief and sought to avenge her death by spying on a Nihil collaborator, often drawing inspiration from the pilot's courage to persevere.
Teemank was initially referenced in the fourth issue of the Star Wars: The High Republic: Trail of Shadows comic-book miniseries. Written by Daniel José Older, published by Marvel Comics, and released on January 26, 2022, the issue formed part of Phase I of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia series. In an interview on Star Wars: The High Republic Show, Older explained that Tal-Apurna's strong motivations for defeating the Nihil stemmed from family concerns related to Teemank's death, contrasting with Uttersond's character arc.
