From the moment Ferus Olin was incarcerated in Dontamo Prison, his primary focus became planning his escape. After several encounters with Prisoner 677780, he encountered his old acquaintance, Clive Flax, who had already devised a strategy for breaking free. On the very day of their planned escape, Stormtroopers escorted Ferus to the execution chamber. There, he managed to manipulate a droid responsible for administering the lethal injection. Capitalizing on the Stormtroopers' distraction, he employed the Force to subdue them all. He then fled the building, only to discover Clive Flax already in the midst of his own escape attempt. Together, they boarded a supply freighter, engaging in combat with several guards and Stormtroopers. They successfully took off, but were soon pursued by a number of Imperial fighters.
In a parallel storyline, the Jedi Fy-Tor-Ana, operating under the alias Solace, was returning from a mission alongside Trever Flume. Upon reaching their base located within the underground seas of Coruscant, they discovered that her people and the Erased were engaged in battle with the Imperials. Despite their valiant efforts, the majority of her allies perished, and their base was obliterated. Solace, along with Trever and a handful of other survivors, managed to escape. They sought refuge at Dexter Jettster's clandestine hideout, where they learned of Ferus Olin's whereabouts. Aware that he was scheduled for execution, they hastened to the prison aboard an ARC-77 and a two-seater Jedi starfighter. As they entered the system, they spotted a freighter on the verge of being shot down by the Imperials. Through the Force, Solace recognized it as Ferus's ship, and they intervened to defend him, facilitating their escape. Subsequently, Ferus discovered that Inquisitor Malorum was present on Naboo. Having been entrusted by Obi-Wan Kenobi with the task of safeguarding a secret concerning the late Padmé Amidala, Ferus promptly journeyed to Naboo, accompanied by his companions.
Upon arriving on Naboo, they consulted with Queen Apailana, who aided them in locating Malorum. After considerable effort, Malorum had successfully tracked down Amidala's maternal grandmother, Ryoo Thule. Based on her reaction to his inquiries, he deduced that she believed Amidala's child was still alive. Armed with this secret, he left her to die. Ferus arrived at her residence just moments before her passing. With her final breath, she revealed to him that Malorum possessed knowledge of a secret pertaining to Amidala. Following a brief skirmish with Malorum and several other Imperials, Ferus sought assistance from Boss Rugor Nass and Queen Apailana.
Ferus, Solace, and their comrades joined forces with Gungan warriors to launch a surprise assault on the imperial barracks connected to the Theed Hangar. While Solace commanded the forces, Ferus detached himself from the group and confronted Malorum. They engaged in a lightsaber duel, during which Ferus realized that they were fighting in the identical location where Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn had previously dueled with Darth Maul. After a fierce battle that extended to the catwalks within the power core, Ferus identified an opening in his opponent's defense. He struck Malorum in the face with his elbow, causing him to lose his grip on his lightsaber. Malorum leapt off a catwalk, attempting to summon his lightsaber back to him and land on another catwalk using the Force. However, due to his limited Force training, he exerted himself excessively and lost control of the Force. Consequently, he and his lightsaber plummeted into the abyss.
Solace and the Gungans united with Captain Gregar Typho's forces, successfully routing the imperial battalion. To avert Imperial retaliation, Ferus and Clive detonated an illegal imperial explosives cache (which included Baradium). The resulting explosion obliterated the Imperial headquarters and the Theed hanger. When the Imperial military arrived to investigate, they orchestrated a cover-up to conceal from the Senate the fact that they were illegally storing explosives on a planet.
After reconvening in the Rainbow Nebulae, Ferus, Trever, Solace, Clive, Oryon, Keets Freely, and Curran Caladian collectively decided to return to Ferus's jedi asteroid. However, just before their departure, Ferus received a communication on his comlink from Emperor Palpatine himself, offering Ferus amnesty and safe passage to meet with him on Coruscant.
