Tseebo

Tseebo, a Rodian of the male persuasion, was employed by the Imperial Information Office while stationed on Lothal. He carried an AJ^6 cyborg construct that contained crucial data for the Galactic Empire, specifically a five-year strategy for the Outer Rim Territories. Approximately four years before the Battle of Yavin, Tseebo disappeared, triggering an Imperial search led by Imperial Security Bureau Agent Kallus and the Grand Inquisitor, a Jedi hunter. Ezra Bridger, who knew Tseebo from his parents, ultimately located him. The rebels then saved Tseebo from the Empire and helped him go into hiding.

Biography

A Friend to the Bridger Family

Born in 42 BBY, Tseebo shared a close bond with Ephraim and Mira, the parents of Ezra Bridger. He was concerned that their resistance to the Imperial regime would jeopardize their son. Despite Tseebo's warnings, Ephraim and Mira were determined to stand up for their beliefs. When the Galactic Empire apprehended Ephraim and Mira, Tseebo stood by and did nothing. As a result, their son Ezra was forced to fend for himself in the streets of Lothal's Capital City. Overcome with guilt, Tseebo took a position with the Imperial Information Office. He volunteered to have an AJ^6 cyborg construct implanted in his body, hoping to discover what had befallen Ephraim and Mira.

Fleeing Imperial Control

By the time the Empire's fifteenth anniversary arrived, Tseebo, now 38, possessed highly confidential Imperial data. This included designs for new TIE fighters and walkers, schedules detailing stormtrooper tactics, and a five-year strategy for Lothal and every other planet within the Outer Rim. He ran from the Imperial authorities, intent on removing the information from Lothal. Given the extremely sensitive nature of Tseebo's data, the Empire initiated a planet-wide search to prevent it from falling into rebel hands.

With no other options, Tseebo sought refuge in the former Bridger household. Later that night, Ezra, Kanan Jarrus, and Sabine Wren, members of the rebel group known as the Spectres, discovered him. Ezra, still harboring resentment towards Tseebo for his inaction regarding his parents, initially refused to assist him. However, Kanan and Sabine disagreed and decided to rescue Tseebo because of the valuable intelligence he possessed. The rebels successfully commandeered an Imperial Troop Transport, evaded their Imperial pursuers, and reached the outskirts of Capital City. There, their rebel allies aboard the Ghost, a modified VCX-100 light freighter that served as the Spectres' primary base, airlifted them to safety.

As the Ghost ascended into space, Tseebo regained consciousness and quickly identified Ezra. Before he could speak to the boy, the Ghost was attacked by TIE fighters led by the Grand Inquisitor. The ship's captain, Hera Syndulla, instructed Sabine to man the nose gun. When Sabine showed interest in Tseebo's knowledge of Ezra's parents, Ezra, still bitter, insisted that they were dead. After Sabine left, Ezra questioned Tseebo about his parents' fate. Tseebo could only recall the day of their capture and could not provide information on their current location. He then expressed regret for failing to save the Bridgers. This only angered Ezra, who refused to forgive Tseebo.

Achieving Forgiveness

Tseebo played a crucial role in helping the rebels escape the Empire by transmitting hyperspace coordinates to the Ghost's [hyperdrive](/article/hyperdrive]. As the crew paused to recover, Tseebo reverted to his unresponsive state. While Ezra and the other rebels discussed what to do with Tseebo, the Rodian unexpectedly projected a hologram, revealing that the Imperials had managed to attach a tracking device to the Ghost. The ship's astromech droid, Chopper, then performed a scan, confirming that the tracking device was affixed to the hull of the Phantom.

While Kanan and Ezra piloted the Phantom to Fort Anaxes to draw the Grand Inquisitor away from the Ghost, Tseebo remained on board. Hera had contacted Fulcrum, the enigmatic rebel leader, and arranged for Tseebo to be placed in hiding. During the journey, Tseebo overheard Ezra calling out to him through the Force, forgiving him for his failure to support his parents. Although he couldn't reciprocate in the same manner, Tseebo felt relieved that he had been forgiven. As the Ghost met up with Fulcrum's CR90 corvette, Tseebo informed Hera that he knew what had happened to Ezra's parents. Before departing, Hera promised to share this information with Ezra when the time was right.

Legacy

Months later, Tseebo's information proved valuable when Ezra experienced a Force vision of his parents. Hera then revealed that Ezra's parents were imprisoned within a vast network of Imperial prisons across the galaxy. Subsequently, Ezra and his master Kanan returned to Lothal. There, they encountered Ryder Azadi, the former Governor of Lothal and a friend of the Bridgers. He disclosed that Ephraim and Mira, inspired by their son's involvement in the rebellion, had attempted an escape attempt but were killed. Despite the loss of his parents, Ezra found closure and was able to move forward.

Years after the Spectres spirited Tseebo away, the incident remained a sensitive topic for the Imperials. When Everi Chalis, the governor of Haidoral Prime, defected to the Alliance to Restore the Republic, she expressed concern that the Imperial Ruling Council would pursue her, emphasizing that the Empire couldn't afford another Tseebo situation.

Personality and Traits

Tseebo became an ally of the Rebellion against the Empire

As a member of the Rodian species, Tseebo possessed a humanoid form characterized by large, round eyes and a long, slender snout. His skin was yellow, and his eyes were green. He also had an AJ^6 cyborg construct, which allowed him to store a vast amount of classified Imperial information. While Tseebo was a loyal friend to Ezra Bridger's parents, Ephraim and Mira, he lacked the same courage and strength to challenge the Galactic Empire. Driven by guilt for failing to support them and protect Ezra, Tseebo joined the Imperial Information Office and volunteered for a cybernetic implant to locate the Bridgers and aid the rebellion. Although the cyborg implant facilitated his interaction with technology, the sheer volume of information made him disorganized and confused.

Behind the Scenes

Tseebo made his debut as a supporting character in the Star Wars Rebels episodes "Empire Day" and "Gathering Forces," which premiered on November 10 and November 17 2014, respectively. Peter MacNicol provided his voice in both episodes. He also appeared in Michael Kogge's Ezra's Duel with Danger, a chapter book that incorporated elements from the Rebels episodes "Empire Day," "Gathering Forces," and "Path of the Jedi." Later, he was referenced in Alexander Freed's 2015 novel Battlefront: Twilight Company.
