A rebel was a female human who fought for the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War. In the year 3 ABY, she found herself stationed at Echo Base, which served as the Alliance's headquarters on the planet of Hoth. On one particular day, this rebel engaged in conversation within the mess hall, discussing the Alliance's strategy for victory with Kryndal, a soldier from special forces, and an alien rebel. When First Sergeant Hazram Namir, who happened to be sitting at their table as well, voiced his concerns that the Alliance would be plagued by internal conflicts after achieving victory, the female rebel firmly asserted her belief in the good intentions of their leaders.
During the heated exchange, the first sergeant mocked their idealism, which triggered a brawl between him and Kryndal, in which the woman participated. After escaping Hoth just before the Empire overran Echo Base, the female rebel later communicated with Namir from a rebel relay station when he attempted to get in touch with Alliance High Command. She provided an update on High Command's situation and delivered the somber news of General Philap Bygar's death to Namir, informing him that he and his soldiers were now on their own.

The human female had enlisted in the Rebel Alliance by the time the Galactic Civil War was underway, pitting the Alliance against the Galactic Empire. During her time in service, she became acquainted with Princess Leia Organa and collaborated with General Carlist Rieekan. In 3 ABY, she was stationed at Echo Base, the secret base of Alliance High Command located on the ice planet Hoth. It was during this period that High Command convened a major strategy conference, extending invitations to numerous guests. The woman was present when the rebel General Philap Bygar expressed great optimism regarding Everi Chalis, a former emissary to the Imperial Ruling Council who had defected to the Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry.
On one occasion, the woman found herself seated at a table in the mess hall alongside Kryndal, a soldier belonging to the Alliance Special Forces, an alien rebel, and several other members of the Echo Base personnel. The female rebel engaged the special forces soldier and the alien in a debate concerning the Alliance's approach to liberating the Core Worlds. As Kryndal conveyed his strong belief in the Alliance's eventual victory and the liberation of the capital planet, Coruscant, Hazram Namir, a first sergeant from the 61st who was also present at the table, began to question the Alliance's objectives following the capture of Coruscant. When the first sergeant made mention of the capital planet's population of ten billion, the female rebel corrected him, stating that it was considerably higher. Namir continued, suggesting that a significant portion of Coruscant's populous did not oppose the Empire, given the absence of a widespread uprising, to which the woman responded that the situation was more nuanced than that.
Namir persisted in his argument with Kryndal regarding the potential aftermath of the war on Coruscant, ultimately asserting that the Alliance was merely a power grab by individuals who had missed their chance at the conclusion of the Clone Wars. The female rebel refuted this claim, contending that rebel leaders such as General Rieekan and Leia Organa were not motivated by a desire for power. However, Namir likened her and Kryndal's admiration for them to the reverence shown to the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader by his stormtroopers. In response, Kryndal lashed out at the first sergeant, initiating a physical altercation in which the woman struck Namir's jaw.

The Empire attacked the rebel base not long after this incident. The female rebel managed to survive the invasion and subsequently learned of General Bygar's death. Several weeks following the Battle of Hoth, Namir, who had assumed command of the 61st after the death of their captain, attempted to establish contact with High Command from the company's CR90 corvette, named the Thunderstrike. Stationed at a rebel relay station, the woman answered the Thunderstrike's call, recognizing Namir and cautioning him that their communication channel might not be secure.
Namir, having also recognized the rebel, informed her that his company would be out of contact for a while and inquired if there were any new directives from High Command. She replied that High Command had not yet regrouped, and the previous orders remained in effect. The female rebel then asked whether Chalis was still with the 61st. After Namir confirmed this, she conveyed Bygar's high hopes for the former governor and delivered the tragic news of the general's passing. After the female rebel informed Namir that the Thunderstrike was on its own, communication was lost following the first sergeant's, now regarded as a captain by his soldiers, response.
The rebel was a human female characterized by her blonde hair. She gave an amused smile when correcting Hazram Namir's statement about Coruscant's population. Having personally met some of the rebel leaders, she was convinced that they were not motivated by a desire to seize power. The woman frowned when explaining the situation of High Command following the Battle of Hoth. She spoke Basic.
The female rebel made an appearance in the 2015 novel titled Battlefront: Twilight Company, authored by Alexander Freed.
