Vaxvissh Kal Ness served as the planetary governor overseeing the Mid Rim planet of Durkteel during the era when the New Republic held power. In the year 34 ABY, while preparing land for the construction of a new comm tower on Durkteel, an excavation team discovered a hidden chamber containing artifacts tracing back to the Galactic Civil War; the bomb squad dispatched to examine the chamber found a armored container marked with symbols of the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
Inside the container was The Rebel Files, a collection of physical documents detailing the Alliance's history, intended for exclusive review by the eyes of top-ranking officials within Alliance High Command. The bomb squad delivered the case to the governor, who then gave it to Major Heck Ensio. Ensio, in turn, sent the case to Master Archivist Mordianius. Mordianius then passed it along to Commander Korr Sella of the Resistance, who ultimately forwarded it to General Leia Organa, the leader of the Resistance and a former member of the Alliance High Command.
