Wisper

Wisper, the chieftain of the Ranc Gang, initially pledged his service to Wenda and Bett. However, in 7 ABY, he shifted his allegiance to Terex. Following Terex's enlistment with the First Order, Wisper assumed leadership of the Ranc Gang. In 34 ABY, when Terex returned seeking to reclaim command, Wisper voiced opposition, leading to his assassination by Zumgi, one of his subordinates. Subsequently, the Ranc Gang, under Terex's direction, embarked on a mission to capture Poe Dameron, the starfighter pilot of the Resistance.

Biography

Wisper and the Ranc Gang

During the era of the New Republic Era, Wisper operated as a criminal. He held membership in the Ranc Gang led by Wenda and Bett, which functioned as both a salvage operation and a repair shop for ships. In 7 ABY, he accompanied the Ranc Gang, along with former stormtroopers Terex and Corlac, to the Rothana Imperial Shipyards. Wisper and the others observed Terex utilizing his technical skills to unlock the shipyards, enabling the gang to seize control and establish a pirate fleet.

After Terex eliminated Corlac, Wenda, and Bett for conspiring against him, Wisper inquired if their deaths were accidental. Terex confirmed they were intentional and declared his assumption of leadership over the Ranc Gang. Wisper and the others pledged their loyalty to Terex. Wisper and Zumgi were appointed as Terex's second-in-commands, assisting him in overseeing the Ranc Gang's operations. Wisper was present when two alien pirates, including a Rodian, offered tribute to Terex, which included a set of First Order stormtrooper armor. Terex then made the choice to align himself with the First Order, attracted by their shared ambition to revive the Old Empire.

In 34 ABY, Terex made his return with the intention of regaining control of the Ranc Gang. His aim was to leverage the gang to dismantle the Resistance and elevate his standing within the First Order. Upon Terex's arrival at his preferred table in Level 72 of the Sliver's, Wisper and the gang extended their greetings. Having been informed of Terex's presence, Wisper welcomed him back. When Wisper questioned his purpose, Terex declared his intent to reclaim leadership of the Ranc Gang. Wisper protested, attempting to shoot Terex, but was subdued by Terex using his vibroblade.

Wisper's Death

Wisper argued that Terex had relinquished his claim to the Ranc Gang upon joining the First Order. Terex countered by stating that he was a criminal and Wisper was wrong to think otherwise. When Terex inquired about the Ranc Gang's allegiance, Wisper attempted to assert his authority by claiming to have enriched them. However, Zumgi then fatally shot Wisper in the chest, reaffirming the gang's loyalty to Terex.

Personality and traits

Wisper was a pale humanoid man characterized by almond-shaped eyes and long, white hair reaching his shoulders. He was attired in blue garments and a black cape. Wisper was armed with a blaster. He, along with the rest of the Ranc Gang, accepted Terex's coup. Wisper rose to become one of Terex's lieutenants. Despite Wisper's success in enriching the Ranc Gang, he never commanded the same level of respect as Terex.

Behind the scenes

Wisper's initial appearance was in Poe Dameron 9, a comic from 2016 penned by Charles Soule and visually rendered by Phil Noto.
