Jon Wittick
Jon Wittick was a male human who served as a Councilor aboard the Galactic Republic prison vessel known as the Restitution. Following the Battle of Galov, Lourna Dee, the Tempest Runner belonging to the Nihil pirate group, was apprehended and imprisoned on the Restitution. Unbeknownst to the Republic, she was using an alias. Wittick took a special interest in her situation, driven by the belief that he could guide her towards redemption. Eventually, Dee disclosed her true identity to Wittick and requested his assistance. Respecting her confidence in him, Wittick maintained her secret and persisted in his efforts to aid her transformation.
However, Wittick's endeavors were thwarted when Pan Eyta, Dee's former rival and also a Tempest Runner, assaulted the Restitution. During this attack, Wittick, Dee, and her allies managed to overcome Eyta and the attacking Nihil forces. However, Dee chose not to kill Eyta, allowing him to be taken back into custody. Although the Nihil's assault was repelled, numerous individuals aboard the Restitution perished, leaving Wittick as the sole surviving guard. Once external communications were restored, the prison ship intercepted a distress signal originating from Zeetar, another Tempest Runner who had survived. Dee, upon hearing this message, recognized an opportunity to rejoin the Nihil. She announced her execution of Eyta to the entire ship, proclaiming that any surviving prisoners were welcome to join her cause. Both Wittick and Sestin Blin, a fellow prisoner who had grown close to Dee, voiced their opposition. With only a single shot remaining in her blaster, Dee fired at Wittick, hitting him instead of Sestin, effectively saving Sestin by ejecting her in an escape pod. Subsequently, Dee assumed control of the Restitution, renaming it the Lourna Dee after herself and her previous flagship, and rejoined the ranks of the Nihil.
Personality and traits
Wittick harbored a deep-seated conviction in the reform agenda championed by Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh, particularly its focus on the rehabilitation of prisoners. Even after Lourna Dee revealed her true identity to him, Wittick continued to address her publicly as "Sal Krost" and remained committed to helping her reform.
