Zenhai was a combatant serving in the army of the Galactic Republic. He was a soldier during the Galactic War, a conflict that occurred in the time when the Sith Empire had returned to power. In the year 3640 BBY, Zenhai was assigned to the squad led by Sergeant Shanra Immel. He fought alongside Colonel Jace Malcom of the Republic Special Forces Division during the battle of Kalandis Seven. During this engagement, Zenhai and his fellow squad members received the directive to destroy the local spaceport, a mission they successfully completed.

Zenhai functioned as a soldier within the ranks of the Republic Army. In 3640 BBY, amidst the Galactic War waged between the Galactic Republic and the resurgent Sith Empire, Zenhai was placed in Sergeant Shanra Immel's squad, which also included Camur, Eron, Vaskus Kayle, Amden vor Keioidian, Min-Reva, and Yennir of the Green. Together, they fought beside SpecForce Colonel Jace Malcom on the desolate planet of Kalandis Seven, situated in the Inner Rim. During the battle, Zenhai and his squad were assigned the task of destroying a spaceport under Imperial control. While en route to the spaceport, Zenhai and the squad came under attack, resulting in Corporal Keioidian being fatally wounded. Before ordering the squad to leave Keioidian behind and continue their mission, Immel activated Keioidian's med tracer.
After a duration of three hours, Zenhai and the squad eventually arrived at the spaceport. They were instructed to check in with Immel before proceeding with their objective, while Malcom attempted to seize a Sith planetary command ship. Zenhai and the squad then began the process of planting targeting beacons, which would enable their starfighters to obliterate the spaceport, even through the planet's thick fog. Shortly after they had finished placing all the beacons, the spaceport was destroyed, although Malcom's attempt to capture the command ship was unsuccessful.
Zenhai's initial appearance was in the short story penned by Alexander Freed entitled, The Last Battle of Colonel Jace Malcom. This story was featured in Star Wars Insider 137, which was released on October 23, 2012.
