Shanra Immel, a Human female sergeant within the ranks of the Republic Army, found herself embroiled in the Galactic War of 3640 BBY. This conflict pitted the Galactic Republic against the resurgent Sith Empire. She served alongside Colonel Jace Malcom of the Republic Special Forces Division during a battle fought on Kalandis Seven, a bleak world situated in the Inner Rim. Immel and her squad received the assignment of destroying the Sith-controlled spaceport present there. Upon their arrival, Immel, Malcom, and her squad systematically eliminated the sentries and initiated the placement of the initial targeting beacons. These beacons were crucial for enabling their starfighters to obliterate the spaceport, even amidst heavy fog.
Subsequently, Immel and Malcom detected a Sith planetary command ship. Consequently, Malcom altered their objective to include the capture of the vessel. While Malcom pursued the Sith [craft](/article/starship/legends], Immel and her squad completed the placement of the remaining beacons at their designated locations. The spaceport was promptly destroyed as a result. After Malcom's attempt to seize the Sith command ship failed, Immel utilized a starfighter to rescue him.

Within the Galactic Republic Army, Shanra Immel held the rank of sergeant and was a Human female. During the Galactic War occurring in 3640 BBY between the Republic and the resurgent Sith Empire, Immel, along with her squad, served alongside Colonel Jace Malcom of the distinguished Republic Special Forces Division on the desolate planet of Kalandis Seven, located in the Inner Rim. Malcom acted as their advisor there. Amidst the ongoing battle for planetary control, Immel's squad received orders to obliterate the local Sith-operated spaceport. En route to their designated target, Immel and her squad faced an ambush, resulting in Corporal Amden vor Keioidian sustaining fatal injuries during the skirmish. After assessing Keioidian's condition, Immel made the difficult choice to leave the Corporal behind, activating his med tracer to ensure his eventual rescue.
Following Immel's directive to advance, the group finally reached the spaceport after a three hour trek. Immel and Malcom emerged from a canyon, entering the local plains with the spaceport in sight. After her squad—comprising the soldiers Camur, Eron, Yennir of the Green, Vaskus Kayle, Min-Reva, and Zenhai—checked in, Malcom provided Immel with a satchel containing targeting beacons. These beacons would enable their starfighters to destroy the spaceport, irrespective of the prevailing fog. Immel and Malcom approached the spaceport together and observed the enemy patrols. Malcom shot a nearby patrol and, with Immel's help, disposed of their bodies under a half-repaired Imperial fighter.
Immel discovered that one of the troopers Malcom shot was still alive and killed him to prevent them from being discovered. She then planted one of the target beacons onto a nearby power terminal. Shortly thereafter, Immel and Malcom sighted a planetary command ship landing on Kalandis Seven, and Malcom amended Immel's plan to include him capturing the command ship alone, while she and her men would finish the mission. Malcom then infiltrated the spaceport and the command ship. Meanwhile, Immel set all the beacons on their targets and checked on Malcom's status.
Inside the command ship, Malcom engaged in combat with a female Sith Overseer, ultimately defeating her, but only after she activated the command ship's self-destruct mechanism. As the spaceport erupted in explosions, Immel deployed a starfighter to rescue Malcom as he jumped out of the stationary Sith craft. Malcom expressed his gratitude for her life-saving intervention and inquired about the mission's status. She informed him that the spaceport had been destroyed and offered to buy him a drink, but Malcom declined, citing his recall to the Core Worlds.
Shanra Immel possessed fair skin, short brown hair, and brown eyes. She displayed a caring nature towards others, particularly those she served alongside, and refused to expose them to situations for which they were ill-prepared. Immel held a dim view of Republic SpecForce, considering its members to be nothing more than scum. Her decision to eliminate a mortally wounded Imperial soldier stemmed from a sense of mercy. She held a disparaging opinion of Private Vaskus Kayle, noting his poor marksmanship and predicting that he would inadvertently poison himself one day. However, she acknowledged Kayle's self-awareness and his ability to follow instructions.
She wore red-and-white armor that was similar to the standard Republic trooper armor of that time, and carried a blaster rifle.
Shanra Immel's debut occurred in Alexander Freed's short story, The Last Battle of Colonel Jace Malcom, featured in Star Wars Insider 137 and released on October 23, 2012.
