Zuke

For a number of years, Zuke was a member of Task Force 99, forming close bonds with the other specialized stormtrooper members. Following the death of the Task Force's previous sergeant, the squad found itself under the leadership of Sergeant Kreel. Early in Kreel's command, a Rebellion shuttle was downed over the Ghost Moon. Kreel and his squad were dispatched to investigate the reason for a shuttle being in such an isolated location. Zuke joined the rest of his squad in the deployment, bringing his heavy weapons expertise to bear in the destruction of a Rebel sniper position. When the Rebels deployed an Armored Assault Tank, Zuke expressed doubt that his rocket could penetrate its armor. This led the new Sergeant to issue an order to retreat into the sewer system below. Despite his opposition to the retreat, and voicing his discontent, Zuke reluctantly obeyed. Within the sewers, when Kreel was attacked by a dianoga, Zuke prevented his fellow squadmates from assisting their new leader, providing Kreel with an opportunity to prove his worth as the successor to the previous commander. When the SCAR squad triggered an explosive trap, sending the tank crashing into the sewers, Zuke was equally surprised as his allies when their new leader brandished a lightsaber to finally disable it. This allowed the Task Force to capture Admiral Verette for interrogation.

As a result of their success on the Ghost Moon, Zuke and the rest of Task Force 99 discovered a secret Rebel plan to commandeer the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer known as the Harbinger. This operation was a joint effort between Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker, and Admiral Verette was en route to meet them and assume command of the Star Destroyer when he was apprehended by the SCAR squad. After divulging this information, the squad reported to Darth Vader, who tasked them with reclaiming the stolen vessel.

Before initiating their assault, the Task Force conducted reconnaissance of the Harbinger for several days. Their initial move involved strapping the captured Admiral Verette to the exterior of his own shuttle and launching it towards the ship as a diversionary tactic. While Luke Skywalker and Sana Starros were occupied with investigating the incoming shuttle, Zuke and his team discreetly piloted a Lambda-class T-4a shuttle into one of the Star Destroyer's numerous unsecured access points. They were confident that with a significant portion of the vessel's scanners offline and the Rebels operating with a minimal crew, they would be able to enter undetected. Once inside, Zuke proceeded toward the engine room with the objective of securing it and preventing the Rebels from reaching their intended destination. He began by launching a rocket blindly into the room, hoping to catch anyone inside off guard. However, this only succeeded in alerting Chewbacca to his presence, giving the Wookiee the opportunity to conceal himself. When Zuke informed the rest of his squad that the engine room appeared clear, aside from C-3PO and R2-D2, Chewbacca ambushed him from above, disarming him. Despite this, Zuke's considerable size and strength allowed him to engage the Wookiee in hand-to-hand combat on relatively even terms. Ultimately, Chewbacca gained the advantage, throwing Zuke across the room and into the reactor controls, triggering an electrical surge that restored power to the reactor. Chewbacca then departed, leaving Zuke scorched and unresponsive on the floor.

Despite the injuries he sustained, Zuke managed to escape, taking C-3PO as a prisoner. Darth Vader reprimanded Kreel and his team for their failure to stop the Rebels, but they managed to avoid his full wrath by presenting the captured protocol droid as evidence that the SCAR team "never comes home empty handed."

After being alerted to the Rebel Alliance's presence by Trusk Berinato, SCAR squadron confronted the rebels on the mineral planet Crait. SCAR Squad engaged the rebels but were defeated, although they managed to escape.
