The Purge trooper division, or simply Purge division, was the branch of the Inquisitorius that comprised the Purge Troopers, highly-trained Imperial stormtroopers that were tasked with supporting the Force-sensitive Inquisitors in their mission to eliminate the survivors of the Jedi Order during the Imperial Era. It was a clandestine but powerful division whose troopers were trained to relentlessly hunt surviving Jedi, even on their own.
The Purge trooper division was first identified as a military unit in the 2023 video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Purge Troopers themselves appeared before then, however. They debuted in the 2018 comic Darth Vader 13 by Charles Soule and Giuseppe Camuncoli. These troopers were later identified as Purge Troopers at Celebration Chicago on April 13, 2019, during the panel for the video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which they appeared extensively in as non-playable characters.
