Yoda gives the younglings a mission.
During a trial, Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay and Nubs parry with a training droid on a platform surrounded by logs. Jedi Master Zia Zaldor Zanna reminds the younglings that to pass the test, they must get past the droid and reach the platform together. The platform has the Jedi symbol. Nash Durango and RJ-83 also attend the test and cheer from the sidelines.
Solay jumps over the training droid and jumps on the logs to reach the platform. She encourages her classmates to follow. Nubs dodges the training droid and jumps over several logs in an attempt to reach the platform. However, he misses the platform and holds onto a rope. Solay is unable to reach Nubs. While Nubs clings onto to the rope, Brightstar rushes over to help Nubs but drops his lightsaber.
Despite Solay imploring Brightstar to drop the lightsaber and help Nubs, he decides to do both and uses the Force to levitate both the lightsaber and Nubs. Though he manages to retrieve the lightsaber, Brightstar loses his focus and Nubs loses his grip and falls down. Master Zanna concludes the training exercise.
While Solay is despondent, Durango found the training exercise fascinating. Brightstar apologizes to Nubs, who accepts his apology and hugs him. Master Zanna gathers the younglings for a special guest who turns out to be Master Yoda. Brightstar is excited to see his mentor. Yoda, who watched the training exercise, counsels Brightstar to focus on saving his friends rather than objects since lightsabers can always be replaced.
Master Zanna tells the younglings that Yoda has a special message for them. Yoda tells the younglings that they have been invited to the Kublop Springs festival. Zanna tells them that they will be performing a special demonstration of their skills at the festival. Master Yoda will be training them. In private, Yoda speaks with Brightstar, Solay, and Nubs. He assigns them on a mission to get something for the festival which will be important for him. He gives the instructions to Brightstar.
As the Jedi younglings, Durango, and RJ-83 head aboard the Crimson Firehawk for their mission, they are being spied upon by their nemesis Taborr Val Dorn. Val Dorn plans to sabotage their mission in order to get them sent back to Coruscant. EB-3 proposes following them and stealing what they are after. Val Dorn steals EB-3's idea and takes credit for it. He tells his associates to board his ship.
Brightstar and his friends travel to a tent stall in the desert. Brightstar wonders if it is a crystal while Solay speculates that it may be an Argonian Ruffle bird. The Aqualish merchant gives them several seeds. Nubs wants to eat them but Brighstar reminds him about Yoda's mission. Solay is curious about why Yoda sent them to get seeds. Brightstar reasons that if it is important to Yoda, it will also be important for them. Brightstar decides they should head home. Durango thinks it was easy and that they should be back before the festival.
Upon reaching the Firehawk, they receive a distress signal. After some discussion with Durango, Brightstar convinces his friends that they should heed Yoda's teaching to help others. The younglings and RJ-83 travel to the whereabouts of the distress signal only to receive a hologram message from Val Dorn that the distress signal was a ploy to lure them away from their ship. Val Dorn reveals that he has stolen the bag of seeds.
The younglings return to the Firehawk to discover that the pirates have vandalized Durango's ship. Durango is upset that the pirates wrecked her ship. Brightstar proposes they split forces, with Durango and RJ staying behind to repair the ship while he and his Jedi friends go after Val Dorn and the seeds. Durango discovers that there is a nearby pirate den called Yarrum Tower. While it is too far to walk there, Durango lends the younglings her speeder bike.
As the Jedi race to Yarrum Tower, Val Dorn, EB-3, and Pord attempt to sell the seeds to a Chagrian pirate, who regards them as worthless. He derides Val Dorn as a "cute" wannabe pirate and touches his helmet. A dejected Val Dorn and his associates decide to return to their ship. The Jedi younglings climb up the docking ring as Val Dorn and his associates walk up the gangplank to their ship. Val Dorn places the seeds on a shelf before heading upstairs.
The Jedi infiltrate the ship by holding on to the retractable landing ramp. As Brightstar retrieves the bag of seeds, Nubs accidentally topples several crates including a GNK-series power droid. This commotion alerts Val Dorn and his gang, who confront the Jed. Val Dorn demands that the Jedi return the seeds, saying he stole them fair and square. Brightstar responds that they belong to Master Yoda and passes the seeds to Solay. She jumps on top of a stack of crates.
When Brightstar uses his energy emitter to undermine the crates, Solay passes them to Nubs who runs from EB-3. Brightstar throws a crate on top of EB-3, temporarily blinding him. Brightstar releases the docking ramp and sends Solay and Nubs away with the bag of seeds. He stays behind and fights with Val Dorn, who draws his electrostaff. Following a brief confrontation, Brighstar uses the Force to shove Val Dorn aside.
The three Jedi are soon picked up by Durango, who has arrived in the repaired Firehawk. She lowers the docking ramp a few metres above the docking ring. Though Solay manages to jump aboard, Nubs misses the ramp and clings onto a rope. While Brightstar is distracted, Val Dorn uses his grappling cable to snatch his lightsaber. Heeding Yoda's advice, Brightstar uses the Force to lift Nubs and the rope safely aboard Durango's ship. Solay convinces Brightstar to leave his lightsaber behind and escape since he is outnumbered. He jumps aboard the Firehawk. Nubs gives him a comforting hug and the Jedi depart. Val Dorn growls in frustration.
At the Kublop Springs festival, the locals watch and cheer as the younglings demonstrate their lightsaber skills. Brightstar and his friends arrive with seeds, which Yoda reveals are rare sparkle-fire seeds, a symbol of friendship between the Jedi and the people of the galaxy. They celebrate the promise of young ones who grow up young and bright. As an eclipse of Tenoo's blue moon and red sun occurs, Yoda plants the seeds in a pot which sprouts into a plant that lets off colored fireworks.
Later, Brightstar tells Yoda that he lost his lightsaber during the mission. Though he doubts his abilities, Yoda reassures him that he made a selfless choice and gifts Brightstar his own training lightsaber, which he wielded when he was his age. Yoda tells Brightstar that he will be a great Jedi one day. Brightstar raises the green lightsaber.
