A Sith temple, constructed from stone and resembling a ziggurat, was erected within a swampy region on the planet Ando during the time of the Jedi-Sith War. A thousand years later, during the period of the Clone Wars, the dilapidated temple was repurposed to serve as an outpost for the Death Wind terrorist organization. Sometime between 20 BBY and 19 BBY, the Galactic Republic dispatched Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker on a mission with the objective of capturing the leader of Death Wind, the Republic's former officer Mekedrix. The two Jedi journeyed to the temple via a watercraft, guided by a Death Wind sentry into the structure. Inside, Kenobi and Skywalker encountered Mekedrix within the throne chamber of the temple. Following Kenobi's attempt to convince Mekedrix to return with them to the Republic, the renegade officer launched an attack on him, leading to his death at the hands of Skywalker.

Located on the world of Ando within the Mid Rim Territories, a Sith temple stood. It was situated at the overgrown end of a river in a secluded swamp region. Constructed from stone, its design mimicked a ziggurat, tapering towards its peak. The temple boasted a prominent central entrance and a lengthy staircase ascending from ground level. The staircase's base connected to a fractured stone pathway that fragmented into individual stone segments suspended above the surrounding water's surface. The temple's exterior was adorned with several sets of runic inscriptions signifying its connection to the Sith, an ancient order devoted to the dark side of the Force. The Sith temple's interior featured a vast, unadorned room containing a sizable and elaborate stone throne on a slightly elevated wide platform.
A thousand years following its construction, the Sith temple had fallen into disrepair, exhibiting cracks and missing stonework. The exterior inscriptions had eroded, and dense, creeping flora had penetrated the throne room from above. After the Death Wind terrorist faction commandeered the Sith temple ruins as a base, the waters flanking the entrance staircase became littered with haphazardly arranged pieces of military hardware from the ongoing Clone Wars, including B1-series and B2-series battle droids belonging to the Confederacy of Independent Systems, as well as armor worn by clone troopers of the Galactic Republic, and scaled models of the Republic's gunship and frigate. Torches lined the walkway leading to the stairs, and a sign, suspended by ropes across the staircase's base, displayed a message in the Aurebesh script, articulating the Death Wind's philosophy of venerating death.

The Sith temple's origins lie in the Jedi-Sith War, a conflict that transpired a millennium before the Clone Wars and culminated in the Sith's defeat. During that earlier era, the structure functioned as a stronghold for Force-sensitives aligned with the dark side. Sometime between 20 BBY and the Clone Wars' conclusion in 19 BBY, the Death Wind terrorist group, under the command of former Republic officer Mekedrix, transformed the dilapidated temple into a clandestine outpost. Eventually, the Republic located Mekedrix, dispatching Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker on a covert operation to apprehend the rogue officer. The two Jedi traveled to Ando and then used a boat to navigate the river leading to the Sith temple. Upon arrival, they encountered a pair of Death Wind guards, one of whom confiscated the Jedi's lightsabers and escorted them up the temple steps and inside. Along the way, Kenobi discerned the temple's Sith markings, realizing that the enduring presence of the dark side of the Force might hinder his and Skywalker's attempts to persuade Mekedrix to return to the Republic to face justice for his actions.
Subsequently, the Jedi were led into the temple's throne room, where they confronted the former officer. Kenobi implored Mekedrix to return with them to the Republic, to which the Death Wind leader responded by expounding upon his nihilistic philosophical beliefs. Kenobi then urged Mekedrix to recall the roles that certain individuals from their shared history had played in the latter's life. The rogue officer, no longer valuing his life, lunged to attack his former Jedi comrade with a sword. Skywalker defended his former mentor by telekinetically retrieving his lightsaber from the Death Wind guard and inflicting a fatal wound upon Mekedrix. Following the former officer's death, the two Jedi returned to the Republic and the ongoing war. Around 0 BBY, Kenobi documented his and Skywalker's mission to the Sith temple in his journals.
The Sith temple made its appearance in the fourth installment of the Star Wars: Obi-Wan comic book series, authored by Christopher Cantwell, illustrated by Madibek Musabekov, and published by Marvel Comics on August 31st, 2022.
