A pet tooka belonged to the Aphra family around 18 BBY. Frequently, this tooka would leave its droppings on the carpet of the family's residence located on the Second Moon of Thrinittik. During that standard year, the feline was sleeping beside the female child Chelli Lona Aphra as she prepared for a journey with her parent, her mother. Approximately around 1 ABY, Aphra reminisced about her pet tooka while in conversation with the criminal mastermind 0-0-0 on the Outer Rim Territories world Son-tuul, specifically in relation to the genetically altered tooka named Flufto.

A tooka was kept as a pet by the Aphra family by the time 18 BBY, during the period they dwelled in a home situated within the University Quarter of the Second Moon of Thrinittik. The cat had a habit of depositing its waste matter onto the carpet within their dwelling. In that year, the female Chelli Lona Aphra overheard an argument between her male parent Korin and her mother Lona. Korin's desire was to bring the girl with him to the Fifth Moon of Thrinittik in order to retrieve records pertaining to the Ordu Aspectu, a splinter group originating from the Jedi Order. After her father inquired whether she preferred to accompany him or remain at home to play with the tooka, Aphra opted to join Korin.
Later that year, one evening, Chelli sustained a cut to her finger because Korin had failed to adequately supervise her. Lona arrived and informed her spouse of the incident, emphasizing his responsibility to watch over their daughter. Korin countered by stating he could have discovered a means to restore the Ordu Aspectu, to which Lona responded sarcastically that a restored Aspectu could prevent the cat from defecating on their carpet. Subsequently, Lona instructed Chelli to prepare for a journey, and as she packed, the family's tooka dozed beside her on the carpet.

In 0 ABY, Chelli, now operating as a renegade archaeologist and physician, created a message for Sana Starros, her former romantic partner and a smuggler. This recording was intended for Starros to hear after Aphra's passing. Within the recording, Aphra recounted several significant events from her life, notably her father's offer to either join him on a mission to the Fifth Moon of Thrinittik or remain behind to play with the tooka.
At approximately 1 ABY, Aphra, in her capacity as an employee of the droid crime syndicate head 0-0-0, engaged in the cloning of a tooka, resulting in a group of sixty genetically modified felines known as Flufto. While on the Outer Rim Territories planet Son-tuul, carrying one of the Fluftos, 0-0-0 questioned the archaeologist as to why she was holding it. Aphra responded by informing the droid about her cloning activities and mentioning her prior experience of keeping a tooka as a pet. The reference to the tooka prompted 0-0-0 to revisit a prior point he had made regarding excessive focus on one's origins.
The Aphra family's tooka was initially mentioned in the fifteenth edition of the 2016 illustrated story series Star Wars: Doctor Aphra.
